Question about HP Pavilion a1640n (RC663AA) PC Desktop

I can't get any sound on this computer. Mute is off, speakers on, plugs in right place I believe...Help.

Check if the sound card driver is installed. Check the device manager and see if there is any item with an exclamation point. You may also want to check if the speaker is working by connecting it to another device.

Everything is pluged in correctly. And when i go to the control panel> Sounds, speech, and audio devices> sounds and audio devices> volume, it says that their pluged in and work, but i dont here...

How do you hook these speakers up


if they have wires or usb plug connections or if wireless might be a usb input device you plug in
you will need to connect your speakers to your computer then you will need to install them to your computer

then you are ready to position your speakers if you have more than 2 you might need to select stereo

I have the MM600DA speakers. they were working fine, and then about 2 nights ago i get no sound. i have XP SP3. i have not changed anything on the computer or system between having sound and not having...

Volume not working,green light on but very dim and can't mute

I lost the sound on my lap-top.I restarted it, there is no sound. I've checked that the speakers are enabled-they are, and it is not on mute...yet, there is no sound! Help!

Where is mute button on model 5189 keyboard. sound does not come on. speakers wires seem to be installed correctly. Trouble shooting guide said mute button may have activated.

In voice chat, i can hear them but they cannot hear my voice


click on the icon of of speaker in the desktop bar. Master vvolume sofware will popup and then click options then properties. Under "show the following volume controls:", sroll down to microphone and check the box beside it. press ok. now you have your mic setting. click the mute box under the mic to disable mute. make sure that noting else is on mute. make sure you plugged the mic at the right place, not sound in or out.

make sure the mute box has no check mark in it......make sure your plug (jack) in the rear or front of the computer that goes to the speakers are plugged into the right place.....go into the control panel and go to sound settings make sure the computer is set up for the right kind of equipment you are using.......

No sound


Play any mp3 or cd with Windows media player and note if the video shows sound playing or not. If yo see the graphics, check the speakers. Many people plug the speakers in to wrong whole. Most pc's are the middle whole. Now check the mute button. On the task bar in the lower right hand corner, single or double click the speaker icon. Clear the mute button. Next, check to see if the driver is in place. If you are using Windows Right click on my computer, choose properties, hardware tab, and then device manager. Look under sound and let me know if the driver is present for sound, video and game controllers. The step will be slightly different is it is not an Xp operating system. If the driver is the problem you need to tell us what operating system, what brand computer, what model number, and depending on the brand, the serial number to locate the correct driver.

Altec lancing 221 pc speakers are not working.


right click in speakers icon and open volume control----check volume control fader in up position-------check that nothing in mute setting and remove mute where ever you find it.-------confirm that you plug speaker jack in right place(line out).-check your sound driver and confirm it is ok.
