Question about HP Pavilion a1510n PC Desktop

1 Answer

My computer (which is of said series) stopped working recently (turned it off, never turned back on). Here's the details... When I turn the computer on, I get no display on monitor (black screen). The computers fans kick into high speed (like in startup) but it stays in that state and no beeps or anything else is heard. The power button lights up, the green light on the back lights up (the psu?), but the yellow cpu light (idk the one marked by a bin symbol) doesn't blink once. The green light of the disc drive blinks and the disk drive appears to function (i put a disc in there and it sounds like it reads it but nothing happens). Any ideas as to what the problem might be?

i tested the computer with a working monitor, but to no avail (still black screen). I'm no expert, but I think the problem is with the computer because the computer stays in standby when it starts and doesn't load the BIOS.

Sounds like a problem with the monitor itself--check all cables and connections---check with a known good monitor (you can use lcd tv)

ok you have to start disconnecting all drives and expansion cards and memory chips and try to start--you should hear the "MEMORY BEEPS" if ok put memory back in and try to boot to BIOS

I disconnected the hard drive and removed the RAM modules. No beeps of any sort were heard upon startup, just whirring fans.

Recently upgraded to 10.7.5 on my Mac. Now my Cannon Pixma 830 will not scan. It will still print from my computer, however.

Hi, Nona!
I'm sorry to hear that your Canon printer isn't scanning! This has actually happened many times for me in the past. Your printer is probably having issues and this occurred coincidentally afterwards. Canon printers seem to enjoy to have problems. Let's try to fix this.

1. Try restarting your printer. Press the power button and wait until it turns off. Then, unplug the printer for 30 seconds. Then, plug it back in. If necessary, press the power button to turn it back on. Wait a few minutes, then try scanning. If this didn't work, keep reading.

2. Try scanning through your printer. Download the Canon printer program for your printer. Here is the link: https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/printers/support-inkjet-printer/mp-series/pixma-mp830
Go to Drivers & Downloads and select "Software". Then choose "Easy-PhotoPrint EX Ver.4.5.0 (Windows)". Agree to the terms and select "Download".

If you mean you didn't get any display in your monitor the first solution is u must reinsert your memory and memory slot.if still have the same issue confirm your monitor is connected to your tower properly.if you still have the same issue just replace your memory (ram).thank you.

Computer wil not load all the way at start up when you turn it on l

Hi, switch off.

Turn back on at first sign of startup, press F8 and hold till puta gives you a series menu's in safe mode.

Click recovery, when screen gives you the choice, choose a date before your most recent update download?

This is a common niggle when downloading routine updates, they don't always work first time.

Tip. when downloading updates, do yourself a favour and download one at a time. Boring I know, But I'm fedup with having to turn back to a previous screen. Hope all assits?

Printing stops halfway through document

This is a memory problem, it clears when you switch it off because it clears the RAM. You need to add more memory, or better still buy a new Canon. :>)

Dv2000 there was no desplay and after i heat the nvidia chip

Dear Sir: We are here to help you and make able to fix your computer, however, we will need certain information, so we may proceed helping you: (1) The manufacturer of the Computer and/or the Computer Trade Name; (2) The Model Name and Number; (3) The Motherboard Identification Number. If you have trouble finding it, we can help you! (4) A detailed "report" of what happened. Please tell us what has happened so far. The light flashing is an indication of a problem, but we need a little more, like what happened before. Did you have your laptop out for repairs and a day after it stopped working? We need every detail you can give us, starting from the first signs, especially if you had someone else work on it. You said that after a day the computer does work. How did it stop working? Did it ever work on the second day? It has been many times, that a problem that you consider unimportant can be the solution to your problem! Also, after you had the second failure, did you turn your computer off, wait 20 seconds and then turn it back on. Sometimes one digit hangs up and it requires a re-start. Thank you for considering our service and the choice you made... CONSTANTIN (arzconst)

Check your door switch first. You should hear a click when you push it in and light should turn off.. If it clicks it is probably ok. If you need to know how to replace it or if it is ok, please reply back with model number so I can give you more detailed directions in troubleshooting.

YAMAHA R-V701 MAKES BUZZING SOUND & WONT TURN ON

This could be the indication of an open resistor, or bad Capacitor in power supply. May not be visible to eye, but if you look in PS. there should be atleast one big sized cap and every PS has a bridge rectifier, this is usually 4 diodes in series, check them and see if any open, shorted
