Question about Samsung Televison & Video

1 Answer

I bought a Samsung AVR720 almost two years ago as well as a new Samsung blu-ray machine - to match our lovely Samsung series 6 TV (which our friend - who reviews all sorts of equipment - said was a really good set to get). I then bought another AVR720 for upstairs approx 6 months ago when we got another blu-ray. We have since had problems with the sound on both machines. When we play DVDs on the blu-ray, we cannot hear the vocal sound although we can hear background noise and background vocal. When we first play the DVD it automatically chooses Neo 6 DTS mode. If we turn off and on 50% of the time it switches to DVD multi-channel and you can then hear the vocals. 1) Why can we not hear vocals in DTS Neo 6? 2) If we are not supposed to hear the vocals in DTS Neo 6 and are actually supposed to view DVDs in DVD Multi-channel, how do we mannually switch as we cannot figure out how to do this? We do not want to keep switching on and off. This can be very stressfull when doing this 10+ times in an evening. We'd really appreciate your help Kind regards Lydia

Some of them require red , white, blue, green, an yellow audio jacks. make sure you have all the input plugs. or eles the tv will not use plugs it doesnt have.

SOURCE: lead vocal

There's a multiplex button (MPX maybe) on the left front of the player. By hitting it you get leads only, background only or both. Be sure, though, you have a multiplex CD. Otherwise you'll only have background and no lead. I learned the hard way. Watch or scan for multiplex or lead vocals. Good luck...

I would suggest that you go to the manufacturer of the Blu Ray and most likely you will find the driver available on the RCA site located there under support for available.

Blu-ray player mode not supported

Is your TV 1080p? If the Blu-Ray is putting out 1080p and your TV only supports 720p/1080i then you will get a message like this. Try changing your settings to 720p while it is connected to a TV that does display correctly, then move it back to the 47 in LCD.

Unfortunately, Samsung tech support was accurate. Most universal remotes (and the portion of the remote programming to control other devices is the same program) only have codes for devices released 6 months or more before the remote was programmed.

However, any universal remote that is newer than the TV (by that 6 month programming period) should control both devices. Low end universal remotes may not support all of the features of either the TV or the Blu-ray player. The remotes that can be programmed via a USB connection to a computer are the fastest to set up. (Alternatives: You can use both remotes when watching a movie or get a Viera link Blu-ray player that is compatible with the TV. For the second option, you need a device with the HDAVI Control (not above Control 5) connected via a good HDMI cable)

I wish that I had better news.

My samsung blue ray will not play a blu ray disc at all ,it will play a normal dvd ,wtf !!!!!!

This is all to common problem and indicates a Laser Pickup Assembly issue. The blue ray require more precision and velocity to produce the higher resolution that is demanded to play them, either way the assembly must be replaced or a new machine bought.

Onkyo remote won't control Samsung components.

I got an Onkyo RC-717M remote control. It is the remote that comes with the Onkyo TX-SR706 receiver. It is a learning remote. When i entered the cde for the Samsung Blu-Ray it did the same thing as the other remotes I got from Onkyo, the pause, next / previous track buttons wouldn't work for the Samsung BD-P3600. I used the learning function of the new remote and programmed it to work. It works ok now but it sure was a hassle to get it done. In fairness i should have called Onkyo support but their support hours don't match my schedule.

Skipping, Sound not matching mouth movements, locking up, LOOOOONG loading times are all problems i'm experiencing only playing bluy rays

Does this happen with both Blu-Ray discs as well as DVD-Video?

If so, it may be the connection or your TV.

If it only happens with one or the other, its a problem with etiher the Blu-Ray lens or the DVD lens and i would advise contacting Samsung to arrnage a service.

If its happening with both, try repalcing the cable you are using and test the Blu-Ray on another TV

Brightness keeps shifting on Samsung 46" 7 Series 750

I just purchased Samsung series 4 LCD TV yesterday. I had the same problem since my salesman was a kind of stupid. He set the 'Power save mode' to automatic. After fiddle with my TV for a while, I found the solution.
Just change the 'Power save mode' to off, low, normal or high. My LCD TV stopped shifting its brightness.
