Question about Computers & Internet
If you are unable to recall your password, you'll have to perform a hard reset. Before doing this, you might want to try using the default password: "admin" (without the quotes). Keep in mind that this will only work if you have not changed the password.
If you can't access the setup page of the router, the hard reset is going to be the only way in. You will gain access to the setup page, but all the customized settings (if any) will be cleared and set to the factory default. If you can't recall the SSID, encryption keys, and other wireless security related variables, you'll have to update the wireless devices that connect to the Linksys router wirelessly to reflect the new settings that you put in.
The hard reset is a button on the back - near the antenna on most Linksys routers. It is recessed in the case to prevent accidental activation. You'll need a pen or pencil to press and hold it in for about 30 seconds, then release. The router will reboot, and you should be able to log in to it and change settings as desired.
