Fly, sounds like you blew the thermal fuse. This is located on the front blower. You will need to remove door by removing the two screws and lifting up on the hinge. Remove the 2 spacers on the other side of the door. Now the panel will pull out and the blower will be exposed. The fuse will look like the one on the right of the attached picture....Catriver..post back.

SOURCE: my dryer works ...tumbles ...heat works...timer

if it is on sensor dry, check to see if the vent in your house or dryer is plugged. If it does this in time dry, there is probably a broken contact in the timer not allowing it to advance, and the timer would need replaced.

SOURCE: Maytag dryer model PYE4558AYW. Stopped running,

first off check to see if you don;t have a breaker tripped in your breaker box ! also make sure there is 220v going to the recept.
then with unit unplugged remove the back cover to see if there is a wire burnt on the motor start switch which is common will be a red or a orange wire. if all that checks out then sounds like a timer issue

I have a maytag dryer mdg 6460aww. timer is not working I I exchanged-timer. , temp switch, cycling th'st, high limit th.st My question is why does not operate on a timer

It's none of the above. The part your dryer requires is the dryness control board part #33002905. Unfortunately they are NLA. If you are really good, you can study the wiring diagram, unplug the board from the system and send power directly to the timer from the motor to run the timer when the unit is running. This will only work properly for the timed dry selection as the dryness sensing is eliminated.
Beats replacing the dryer and the part MAY be remanufactured by Whirlpool. So it might be available in the near future.

Maytag atlantis MDE6400AY timer works but dryer doesn't come on

First thin I would try is to check your thermal fuse for continuity with a ohm meter with the wires removed from the fuse and the dryer unplugged. Its located on the tunnel that in cases the heating element.
Here is the part in case you find it bad.

Your timer motor is bad. It is very similar to a clock motor and it drives the timer on your dryer.

Maytag Atlantis MDE7400AYW timer has been replaced but the dryer won't stop drying on it's own. What is the reason? I have the same problem... the timer on mine doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?

The wire connections to the timer may have not been made correctly when it was replaced bypassing the OFF contact in the control circuit.  There should be a wiring diagram inside the front or back panel that you can check.

Does sound like the timer, although the clock is moving, the contact for the heater element is burned out inside the timer, you probably have used this timed dry for your normal day to day use and worn out the contact, new timer required.
