There are two versions of the Syma S107. The original and BEST version is the one that has the rectangle slot on the throttle, with a ball on the right joystick. The 'cheaply made for Christmas 2010' models have an inferior build quality. Most of them have wobble problems, mainly caused by an off-centre flybar.

If you have a transmitter with a ball on the left AND the right of the joystick bases, then you have a cheap and nasty model. Also, the cheap 'CMFC2010' model has a round charging socket instead of the correct Syma square. The plug on the cheap one is also a round coaxial plug/socket affair.

I have had (and returned) four of the later Christmas models now as they all had different faults. However, I exchanged one for a 'real McCoy original' Syma and after four charges, it took off on its own (no signal from transmitter as it wasn't on) and went berserk. Then it just lost all motor functions, like a drunk student.

It goes back to ModelZone tomorrow for a refund as I still have the S031. My next little heli will be a Blade MSR.

There is a good chance that the power output transistor has blown. There are three, one for each motor. They are also controlled by the microprocessor so even that could be defunct. The only way to tell is to put a resistance test meter on the terminals of the motor (where the wire goes to the PCB). You will need to unsolder one of the wire connectors from the board though, otherwise you will get a reading through the circuit board, fooling you into thinking that the motor is fine.

If your S107 is old, then it may pay to just buy another one (but read above!) and use the broken one for hardware spares (blades, prop, boom etc).

Kindly check the rotor carefuly.. there is one white/black color rotor fixed on the bar of Motor rotates whith motor and there is anoter rotator which attached parally with its i.e once motor rotator moves the another ones also moves (which connected with the rod of Blades) some times these rotators gets loose by time and makes the rotation of Blades weak. kindly connect the same tightly and check....

S107G upper blade doesnt rotate, and leans to the side. lower blade spins...but no take off. brand new out the box......sup?

Hi,

Check that the bottom gear/cog is engaging with the motor drive gear. This is a common fault and usually just need to move the cog on the motor.

Kind regards, Julian

My S107G Metal Series will not take off just sits and spins how can i fix

If there are two blades that turn in opposite directions, perhaps the blades are reversed. If that is the case then they are pushing the helicopter down instead of up.

Syma s107 hit a dangling string that got tied up instantly and seized the rotors. now lights up but blades don't spin when throttled. What can I do besides replace the helicopter?

I was flying my syma s800g and hit the ceiling fan chain. When I attempted to fly it would spin and fall over. The problem was I broke the two small plastic pins on the top rotor holder. Ordered a new top rotor and flies fine. Then on my s107 I flew into a door and the top rotor had zero spin although the motors worked. In that case the screw that sets the top rotor onto the middle shaft loosened resulting in no lift and also tilted and fell over. This was fixed by securing the set screw properly. So in both instances it was similar effects due to the top rotors not spinning in sync with lower blades.

S107g won't take off

I may be out of my area of expertise on this one, but it is possible to install the blades backward? That would cause the copter to try to go downward with the normal rotor rotation....just a friendly suggestion.

My sons S107 lower rotors would not turn. I disassembled and solved a gearing problem. At this time a wire came loose that supplies power to the tiny little prop at the tail. I fixed this problem too. ...

Check if s107 is fully charged.
Both rotors (lower and upper blade) should be working at full capacity. If either one of them is going slower, S107 won't lift up from the ground.
Check that gears are not too tight on each other. They should be able to rotate (leave cca 1mm space up/down between them)

I replace a motor on my SO32 and now both rotors rotate the same way. What's up with that? I don't know what to look for.

Dear Bmjjhh,

kindly carry out the following steps.

1. Observing from top the bottom rotor should rotate in anticlockwise direction while top rotor should rotate clockwise - identify which rotor is rotating in opposite direction.

2. Another way is that the rotation of both heads top and bottom should be towards the leading edge of the rotor blades respectively.

3. Once the motor is itentified which is rotating in the wrong direction go to the electronic receiver pcb and disconnect motor coupler.

4. Using a paper pin lift the small plastic notches in the motor connector and pull out the wires gently.

5. reverse the position of the wires and insert the wires in the coupler again and plug it in the pcb.

6. Check direction of rotation it should be fine now.

Have a wonderful flying

regards
sanjay

Blades wont stop till battery goes flat, then rotate again when you try charge it up

First, chopper must be "off" when charging.
If helicopter is powered off and blades move when it's hooked to the charger, then you have an incorrect charger. It's tricky as they all look the same. At one point I had 3 different "syma s107" helis that all used different chargers. Around 7 different Chinese and Taiwanese factories/companies produce the "syma" branded birds, and often with differing but very similar parts. There are at least 3 circuit board designs, different wiring patterns, and a couple batteries.... I've heard of people receiving a charger in the box with their 107 that didn't charge it. NEVER run battery dead. You will ruin it. What charging method are you using? Does it fly normally when charged? Do the blades ever move when it is powered off and not hooked to charger?

Let me know,
thanks PvT

Check the tail rotor blade for proper rotation. A lil wd40 could resolve this problem if it is not spinning.
