Question about Kodak EasyShare C143 Digital Camera

4 Answers

I just got the Kodak Easyshare C143. The camera keeps shutting off on it's own. It only stays on a few seconds. I have tried replacing the batteries, but had no luck. The battery bar on the camera screen still is half full. Help.

I tried to find an on line manual that explained the battery save or auto power off feature but with no luck. What I fully expect is happening is the camera has been set to automatically shut off on its own if there has been no function changed or made within a certain time a few seconds sound extreme but it might not be shutting completely off just going to sleep so by depressing the shutter button half way it will wake up.

My C143 just started doing the same thing. But I just noticed that the batteries my "other half" picked up at the dollar store ARE NOT alkaline batteries. They are Sunbeam Super Heavy Duty. I'm wondering if THAT is the problem. They are draining like I just pulled the plug in the bath tub. I'm going to go pick up some good alkaline & see if that doesn't solve the problem. If it does, all I can say is "men!!! can't live with 'em....can't kill 'em!!!" :D

I have had the exact same problems with 2 of these cameras! Apparently there is an internal battery much like a watch battery that would cause this to happen and is almost impossible to replace yourself so would need to be taken into the shop. Hope this helps!! :D

Check your card isn't set to write protect then try re-formatting again in the camera, if it still doesn't work, try another card. The card you're using could be faulty.

Purchased a easyshare C143 when I put in the memory card it keeps insisting I format it. When I indicate OK it produces a red and white line for a few seconds and goes back to the original message format!...

You're right...a Kodak isn't even in the same ballpark as a Canon. Anyway, be sure the slide switch on the side of the card is in the "unlocked" position. Go into the menu and find "format" and launch it from there. Also, be sure the card can be used by the camera. For example, some cameras can only use SD cards and not SDHC cards.

Bought a kodak easyshare c143 camera and every time i turn the camera on it shuts off and does'nt stay on what can i do.

Take it back where you bought it from, the rechargeable battery is no good or the systems control board has an issue, which is serious.
