Crashin, freezing, and a random system clock

My system kept crashing with both my usual and backup HDD I shut down all applications to hunt for a software problem but still had the same results, noticed then that the clock would come up with random times and dates even after being reset.then the system would not boot up. changed the bios battery, system would boot up but with no aplications running it still freezes requiring dirty shutdown and the clock/date jumps forward randomly 20-30 years even after being reset manually
tried several batteries same results
any clues??????????????

Try to update your bios with the newest version from Accer I have had a couple like this in the past. It seens that the firmware running the realtime clock sometimes causes all kinds of problems if it is currupt software and hardware

You may have to many running processes, use this procedure to speedup Windows Vista: http://www.pcworld.com/article/143538/windows_vista.html Make sure your Windows and Dell Updates are current and up-to-date. Have you cleaned the fan, vents, and heatsink with Compressed Air? Is the Laptop getting sufficient air flow? Use these two freeware programs to cleanup your Laptop. 1, CCLEANER: http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ Use the cleaner and registry to remove junk and free up HDD space. In the TOOLS section, select STARTUP, disable ALL unnecessary startup/running programs, this will free up memory. 2, MALWAREBYTES: http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/ In the install, UNCHECK the Trial Pro version, you want the freeware version, run a FULL scan, delete ALL results, reboot. Satellite PSAGCA-06M01N keeps restarting when i try to upgrade windows

Computer randomly restarts is not something unique happened to you. Sometimes there is a dreadful total crash of the system and sometime it sends different errors, upon restarting nothing happens.

-- First of all disable the auto-restart option from your control panel settings
-- Remove any recently installed maliciously software/add-on or any other application or toolbar.
-- Try to cool down your PC as the overheating due to overuse of computer may result in system freezing and sudden restarting.
-- Update your BIOS.
-- Update the drivers
-- Make it sure the error is not caused by the deficient power supply. You may try to change the power supply.
-- Conduct the registry clean up scan for quick fix of the problem.
-- Remove flashy games and/or untrusted antiviruses/antispywares. Conduct the security scan through the most powerful scanners only.
I would recommend to use a system utility tool like PCFresher to fix windows errors and registry errors. Then try updating hope problem is fixed.

Inspiron 531 freezes

You have to do some maintenance cleaning and check up. Both hardware and software. As this age usually two years. One common failure is the harddrive. You should get some backup procedure. As for software you may do the following. 1. Registry cleaning (Ccleaner is good but be careful also) 2. Application cleaning, uninstalling those program not needed in the system. 3. Log and history cleaning. 4. Defrag is good. 5. And virus scanning it also one of the major cause of system freezes. 6. And unloading some files (back it up then unload) As for hardware. You may do some dusting or reseating. Usually the CPU fans and system fans and its airways.

Automatic shutdown, crashing applications & no startup repair

Yes, sounds like some of you applications may have become corrupted. It happens over time. Find the backup program if XP >start>accessories>system tools>backup on Vista just type "backup" in the start box. You will see and option to back up all of your docs., email, web favorites, etc. Back them up then use the Windows disc reload the operating system You will also, have to reload your applications. That will take care of it. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions. Don't forget to rate this solution with 4 stars before you log out.

Some of HP's laptops had an issue with the motherboard. They're not going to broadcast the info but at least one motherboad has been recalled and will be replaced by HP if you do your homework. This means searching their site for forums on recalls. Googleing your model along with words like recall, wirelless, motherboard, etc..
