Question about Linksys VOIP VONAGE PHONE ADPTR 2-PORT PAP2 Router

1 Answer

Hello, I have a Linksys PAP2-VN VoIP adapter from Verizon Voicewing which you know is now defunct. I cannot access the web setup utility because it requires a password that was set up by Verizon and I cannot get it from them since Voicewing is defunct. My phone number was 302-226-8306 in the U.S. Do you by any chance know the passwords/usernames that Verizon used on these devices? I would love to be able to use on on another VoIP service. Thanks in advance for your assistance. Regards, Ed Scherer

Password recovery on PAP2

There is a hard reset that can be done via the phone IVR. Connect an analog phone to the RJ-11 port on the PAP2 and pick up the handset, where you will hear dialtone. Press * (4) times and you will be told you are entering the configuration menu. Press 7 3 7 3 8 + # and you will be asked to enter 1 to confirm. Congratulations, you factory-defaulted your PAP2, the adapter will restart and you can log in with the default user name 'admin' with no password.

Hello,I have connected a linksys voip

Hello dandashi77,

I am using a Panasonic DECT 6.0 Series cordless phone. However, the VIATalk.com VOIP Services uses a LinkSys PAP2 adapter which can work with any type of phone. A Broadband connection is required to use the VIATalk.com VOIP service. Setup is very simple and the instructions areeasy to follow. Just a few simple things to do.

Connect my phone adapter

You need to register/subscribe to a VOIP provider first like Vonage and the likes. Then you need to register through your VOIP provider the phone ports of your router. ISP is different from VOIP.

Linksys SPA2102 interfearing with winmx/360 sharepro, frequently resetting connection

If your planning to connect the phone adapter behind a router make sure that the following ports are open/forwarded on the router; UDP ports 5060-5061, UDP ports 16384-32767 take note that 5060 and 5051 one are SIP ports and must be assigned to the IP address of that was assigned to by the router to the adapter or the IP that was manually configured on it.

I found a link that could help you check the setting on your linksys phone adapter

http://www.voipvoip.com/linksys-pap2/

Hope this will help you solve your VOiP problem...

The only way so far to unlock this is to request Vonage to do it since the VN unit is locked to Vonage.

I have a linksys PAP2-NA VoIP adapter. I want to lend to my customers but want to lock the access to admin so they cannot see my settings

Hi rajahc,

That's easy (as long as your voip provider didn't locked it themselves), just log-in to your PAP2's setup page and set the user and or admin password under the system tab. Hope this helps

Cheers and best regards,
