I have a GPX mp3 player (#ML651B), and, for some reason, the computer will not recocnize it, so that I may download music files to it. It plugs into computer via USB cord, the player is new, Computer is...

First of all try it on a different computer, if that still doesn't work try Formating the mp3 and reseting it to the default settings through the System tools menu.
Anyway here is a link to the manual in-case you need it: www.gpx.com%2Fowners_manuals%2FML651B-IB.pdf

you can click and dragg mp3 files into the folder that apears when you plug in your usb cable. into the ringtones file or the music file. here when you plugg in the usb cord with your phone attacted of course. then when it has the lil "blurp ding" at the bottom right hand of the screen click the blurb and it should open a folder click and drag from media player or where you have your songs stored and into the folder that you just opened. if for soem reason the usb cord is unrecongnized you will need to install the driver, it shoul dhave the way to do that on the usb cable you purchsed package.

Computer stopped recognizing USB cord from Zen sleek photo

The first problem is probably a software incompatibility between Creative's software and Windows Media Player version 11. The second problem is possibly a need to replace the battery. 3rd party batteries are about 20 dollars now.

Zip-Linq USB Charge-n-Sync cable

The easiest (and in my opinion the best) solution would be to obtain a usb adaptor for your memory card....once you format the memory card in your phone you can remove it and place in the usb adaptor....you are then able to directly drag and drop mp3,etc right from your pc on to the card....much faster way to do it by the way.....if your phone is like mines then it is probably blocking access to that portion of the card to encourage you to purchase music through your phone.
