Have you set any wireless security (WPA or WEP key) in the router?
If you have, this information should be entered in the connection on the laptop

If not, have you checked that the laptop and router are talking to one another (the wireless connection should appear when the laptop finds new networks to join)

Obvious question.. but have you installed the wireless driver to the laptop and have you enabled wireless connectivity on the laptop (either a switch on the laptop of more usually the FN key and one of the F buttons?

Laptop running 0n win 7 wont connect to router

1. you will have to designate the laptop or allow it to connect by entering it into the 3com router.
2. try connecting to the router via ethernet cord (that is connecting with a physical straight through cord) that came with the router.
If connected with this then you will have to go into the router via the IP set 192.168..0.1 depending on the router ip for loging in.
2. Go to the "wireless setup" and enter your MAC address for the laptop in the permissions list in the router. Instructions on how to do this is at the manufacturers site. Step by step.
3. Do the following step if instructions not found.
1.Log into router
2. Verify wireless router name( on the computer) >>> ( on/off)
3.Note router name you are connecting to.
4.. Check the laptop do ipconfig /all to see current IP adresses.
5. Set the laptop up in the router by WEP KEY or MAC address.
6.Note router name you are connecting to.
7. Move the laptop about 20ft away and try to log on to the internet.
This is for all routers to set up wirelessly.

My laptop wont connect to the internet...it connects to the router but then wont connect to the internet and its not the router or modem wont connect to a wired connection either

I would hook your laptop up directly to your broadband modem and bypass your router to rule it out. Plug the network cable from your modem into your laptop. Unplug the power on your broadband modem and plug it back in. Restart your laptop and see if you get on-line.

If you can...your router is the issue. If you cannot....I would check with your internet service provider before troubleshooting further.

Have a dlink router model 615. new toshiba laptop wont connect??have tried my passcode...didnt work. pc that is connected too router is xp...new laptop is vista.

Make sure that on your Vista laptop the wireless is turned on (look for the LED indicators on the laptop) and see on the system tray the computer with the red X click the icon once and click on Networking and Sharing Center and click on Connect to a network, click the refresh button on the right and if it sees your wireless network highlight it and click on connect... if it not sees it and you are sure that the wireless is ON on your laptop, just restart the computer

Have 1 desktop and laptop connected to router ans i bought a new laptop .. and it wont work with my wireless belkin router what am i doing wrong?

check whether driver for wireless is installed properly in the laptop .To check it navigate the device manager and see device wireless is installed.
The wireless may be sometimes disabled ensure it is enabled.
Then try to search for the wireless signal and connect to it.
Ensure correct ip address is received automatically in laptop by using command ipconfig/all in command prompt
check router dhcp address range.

I am trying to set up a new laptop i think i

This is what you have to do. Connect the Modem that came from the ISP to the WAN port of the router. Use one of the cables running out of the LAN port of the router and connect it to your laptop. Once you do that, go to the web interface of your router and run the setup . This should work

My acer one wont connect to my wireless router but will to any other router in the area, even if i unsecure the network it wont connect

Check to make sure that your router is compatible with the card installed in your acer. If your router does not support what the acer is putting out then they will never work together and your only option would be to buy a new router that would be compatible with all your equipment. Hope this helps.

TEW432-BRP Trendnet wireless broadband router wont connect

Sounds like you need to configure the PC's USB wireless adaptor. The settings must be the same as the router. If you use a WEP password on the other connections then you need to have the same password on the USB wireless adaptor. Good Luck.

Lose router signal everytime i restart my laptop

This seems to be an issue with the router itself. As the laptop is able to connect to other networks easily, the trouble seems to be with the router.

Try updating the firmware on the router. Also, change the wireless channel on the router and check if that helps. If the issue persists then I believe you will have to get the router replaced.
