You have taken out 1 or 2 channels that are ic driven, the relay is sensing a short in 1 or 2 channels and will not engage until it is repaired. This will need a service shop that can deal with the complexity of finding the problems.

I have a 2007 Rockford Fosgate P400-2 amplifier. For about two months of use with two kicker comp 15s i had no problems, loved it. Then, one day, the speakers just stopped beating. Thought maybe i blew...

There is absolutely a problem with your amplifier. Start with the power wiring first, since that is usually why the protection kicks on. Has any of your power source wires shorted at the input? Is your ground wire still to a good ground of has it vibrated loose. Also, check all the fuses. Also, check your RCA wires that they are not pierced. Does your radio still put out good sound from the other speakers, just not the subs? If you are having trouble with sound completely, then it may be at the radio. Happy Hunting.

Radio display says protect. does not emit sound.

Sounds like you have either a short in your speaker wire somewhere, wires touching in the back of the unit or a short inside the stereo itself... Try pulling the radio out and unhooking all of your speakers...Turn unit back on after all speakers are disconected...If unit still shows protect, then radio is bad...If it doesnt, power off and hook up speakers one by one and power it back on till it shows protect again....When it does, the last speaker wire you hooked up has either a crossed wire or the speaker is bad...

No sound coming from my speakers

Possible scenerio's with the little info you gave.

1.You have a bad speaker thats blown or the wires are touching the chassis of your car.

2. You have a factory amp and you need to connect the blue wire to the amp turn on wire. And if it still doesnt work then you have to rewire it complete or maybe have to get a special car amplifier compatible harness so your aftermarket works with your amplified system in your car.

3. In certain Ford cars they crisscrossed the back speaker wires. To test this unplug your harness from the radio. VERY IMPORTANT( splice these colors of wires in the middle enough so you can use a 9volt small rectangular battery to make the speakers you want to test pop(harmless))
1. green = back left + speaker
2. green/black = back left - speaker
3. purple = back right + speaker
4. purple/black = back right - speaker

test green speaker wires first touch battery to the + and - and the speaker should pop if not you have already discovered the problem. Know this time pop the green + and the purple/black - on the 9volt battery if the speakers pop you have found the solution.

Just criss cross the the negatives of the back speakers. From the radio harness end attach green to green, purple to purple, green/black to purple/black and last purple/black to green/black. And all your speakers should work again.

Dont ask me why late Ford Models crisscrossed their speaker wires. They just did.

How do I install a volume control.

Ok, without actually seeing the back of it, I can't say where your connections go. But, I can tell you that there will be a positive and a negative for both L and R sides And 2 wires that go to your volume control on your amp.(1 for each side) you will be able to combine the 2 wires that go to your amp and it will still control both the right and left on your speaker.

Green light, only sound when car is not running

Make sure your power supply is as clean as possible, replace with new wire if you can. Otherwise you answered your own question....replace the factory POS radio. By the way your baja's are ok...virtually all speakers are made in China, often at the same factory. Brand names just mean a person was dumb enough to get sold some overpriced gear and help a salesman pay his mortgage.

Power Acoustik 1600 trouble

All fuses would be external. Check all of them.

If all of the fuses are OK, you probably blew the power supply for that channel (and possibly the output transistors). You'd need an ohm meter to check them.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I bought a 500/1 jl audio amp and also a w7 10 sub

if its cutting off and right back on then check your ground and your power wire makes sure both are connected good and none of your fuse's are blown, either that or you got a wire hooked up backwards in the sub.. but my guess is that the sub is hooked up wrong... that sub should be hooked up in a series or in parallel,

ok if your running just one speaker, it should be hooked up like this and 2 speakers are a different way...

this is parallel :pos to pos , neg to neg, then one wire coming from pos on sub to pos on amp then neg on sub to neg on amp but bridge the amp on your amp should be 2 pos and 2 neg in two different channels take the pos off the sub into the pos on 1 channel and then the neg from sub to the neg on the other channel,

this is series : on the sub it will go pos to neg then the other neg and pos will go to the amp, but make sure the pos and neg r on different sides of the sub, dont hook them both to the same coil

if your need more help give me your email and ill send you a pic of how to do it...

Cb feedback though external am/fm speakers

Hi Big OX,

Terrible problem.  I know what your going though.  Route your AM/FM Antenna wire, and Speaker wires separate from the  CD Antenna cable and power supply wires. If you can,  twist the speaker wires.  If the Speaker wires are run along side the CB Antenna wire for a short distance, you will pickup feedback. If you much have the Antenna wire get near the speaker wires, have the antenna wire cross the speaker wire at a 90 degree angle. Try not to run the antenna wire in paralell with the speaker wires.   Good luck

Works fine through 4 chnl. amp on radio until you switch to cd then rear speakers turn off

You have the amp hooked to the "Antenna turn on" which is the blue wire.... you need to hook it to the "REM" output whis is Blue with a white stripe.
