Bread pan Capacities

Here is how you determine the size of loaf you can bake in your machine. You need to determine the capacity of your pan. Fill your pan with water and measure the cups added so you know how many cups of water are in the pan when it is full to the very top. Here are the conversions:

1)If your pan holds less than 10 cups of water you can make: a 1 pound loaf

2)If your pan holds 10 cups of water you can make: a 1 pound loaf and a 1.5 pound loaf

3)If your pan holds 12 cups you can make: a 1 pound, 1.5 pound, and a 2.0 pound loaf

This is rare, but if you pan holds 14 cups or more you can make all the above plus a 2.5 pound loaf

FROM ANOTHER SITE:

To find your bread machine pan size:
Fill the bread pan with water and measure it out in cups
Less than 10 cups of water = 1 pound
11-13 cups of water = 1 1/2 pounds
More than 13 cups of water = 2 pounds

You don't need the bread pan cover unless you are making butter. If you are making bread you should always leave it off or it could melt from the heat of the baking cycle. The butter cycle doesn't use heat. Please rate this answer with testimonial/vote/rating etc Thanks!

I tried making butter without the pan lid and it worked, but it splashed all over the inside of the machine... so I still would like to find out where to get the pan lid ...

I saw one on ebay just a couple of days ago. Go to ebay and type in "Toastmaster bread machine".....It might still be there. In a pinch you could probably make one out of a flexible plastic. Hey, I know! just get a big zip loc bag and trim a square piece with scissors with a little overlap then get a big enough rubber band and use that to hold the bag piece down and that should work since there is no heat and it's really there to just keep a mess from happening. You know that really is a good idea. I have one with the lid but even with the lid I get a little spillage because of the small holes in the lid to pour out of. I think I'll make the plastic cover out of zip loc bag and put that on top of the lid. Zero mess! Thanks for your question, I can't wait to try it too!

I need the butter lid for a toastmaster 1195

Until you find one just put a piece of aluminum foil around the top and fix with a big rubberband. You can do this because no heat is applied in the butter program.

Do they still make this machine? I have one that is probably 13 or 14 years old and LOVE IT. However, my problem is the bottom of the pan has gummy stuff on it. I clean it off and use it again only to...

Your pan and seal are starting to disintegrate. I have a older model toastmaster in almost new condition. If interested I can sell to you via paypal. You can try it for 7 days and if you don't like it you can return it. Let me know if you are interested. It's not a 1142, it is a toastmaster 1170S, "corner bakery" model,,,,supposed to make butter too but I don't have the little butter lid, but you could still make butter with it. Toastmasters are my favorite too. They are quiet and have heavy duty pans.

The dough paddle is removable and should be removed shortly after baking by soaking in 3-4 inches of warm soapy water. If your paddle is stuck let me know. I don
