    Hello again:

I'm sorry to say that my 'Jubilation' was short lived.
I shut the set off as requesed.
Turned it back on, picture and sound was there, Next morning same problem.
TV doesn't boot up properly and all there is, is sound.
Please explain more about the 'TV Module'

    Hello
I'm still awaiting a response from my last email as my the solution and results were short lived.
Can you explain what the TV Mpdule is and what would it take to repair?

  • egk3 Jan 12, 2011

This LCD is less than 2 years old.
Because of my pension budget, trashing the tv is not really an option.
    The events are as such:
Watching TV, screen goes blank, not black (sound ok)
Unplugged TV (power off), left for over an hour, plugged back in, TV was ok for half and hour then went blank again.
The boot up process is that when the TV is turned on initally the screen should go blue with the wording 'Electron' across the middle then to the TV station.
At this point, when turned on, screen goes from black to a dark grey with some speckling but no 'blue boot-up' window(same idea when you boot up a computer and the Windows logo (welcome to EXP etc.)
Changed cable outlets and cable but same results.
    Thanks

    Ewan

Sorry for the delay (flu) in uploading the requested photo's. Unfortunately the photo's uploaded to 'ImageShack.us' didn't turn out all that well.
When the TV is turned on, it now shows a 'dark shade of blue' other than black when off.
I think I have pushed so many buttons that the source is not the cable TV anymore......anyway, in one of the photo's you can see a small box with the wording 'No Signal'
    Hope this helps.

    Yes please:
In my search for information, all I have been able to come up with is from a websiteIn located in the Ukrain, unfortunately they don't do hoiuse calls!
On the site, it indicates what parts they use. Here is a copy of the paragraph give.
IN «ELECTRON» television sets the following units are used:
    - Philips and Toshiba picture processors;
    - high-quality and reliable Samsung, Panasonic, LG-Philips, HUA FEI (Philips), Irico picture tubes;
    - Sharp, LG-Philips, CMO (Taiwan), AUO (Taiwan) panels for liquid-crystal television sets (LCD).

    Hope this helps

It sounds like you have a malfunctioning T-con board. Can you please take a picture of the screen, upload it to imageshack.us and get me the link so that I can see for myself?

Its a confirmed case of T-con more so coz you can see the no signal message(since you must have changed the inputs by pressing the buttons). It is relatively is easy to replace and is inexpensive. With little care you can do this yourself. I can help you find a replacement if you wish to.

  • eagle338
    eagle338 Jan 14, 2011

All that info is not necessary. All I need is the part number of the t-con board. Unplug the set and remove the back cover. At the top center of the chassis you will see a board with two ribbon connectors(LVDS cables) going into the screen. Just get me the part number off the board that the cables go from and I will find you a replacement and tell you how to replace it.

    Hello eagle338:
Sorry if this is the second message you receive, but I'm not sure the first got through.
I've found the t-con board( I think ) Model# FSP205-4E03. Is this also referred to as the 'power supply'?
I also posted a couple of photo's on 'imageshack.us' but again, not sure they made it. The model # is of photo 'Back Panel #3'

    Ewan

  • eagle338
    eagle338 Jan 18, 2011

No thats not it. FSP205-4E03 is the part number of the power supply. The T-con board looks like this . Two ribbon connectors go into the display from the two ports at the top of the tv. Also I could not see the images uploaded to imageshack. You can mail them to vls_powerful2002@yahoo.co.in
    http://im4.ebidst.com/upload_big/9/5/7/1...

  • Flugel Jan 18, 2011

I was afraid of that. The only other board that resembles what you are referring to have all the video/audio inputs soldered to it.
I've emailed all photo's to your yahoo account.

  • eagle338
    eagle338 Jan 18, 2011

I did not get the images. Note that its yahoo.co.in not yahoo.com

    eagle338 Jan 18, 2011

The board in the image backpanel 4 looks like it. It can be the backlight inverter but lets see.

  • eagle338
    eagle338 Jan 19, 2011

Ok. Surething. I will get you the link to the replacement as soon as I get it.

  • Flugel Jan 20, 2011

    eagle338:

Here is the Part # on the board JLS-05-32E1. Found a link in the net. Uploading a photo of it to imageshack now.
What makes you think it is the Inverter and not the T-Con as mentioned in the member solution list?
    Ewan

  • eagle338
    eagle338 Jan 20, 2011

The inverter controls the backlight. In other words, the screen won't light up at all if it fails. Since that is not the issue here I am 100% sure its not the backlight

  • Flugel Jan 20, 2011

OK ao where does that put me?

  • eagle338
    eagle338 Jan 20, 2011

The T-con board that we were discussing about all the while. You said you found the part right? Please go ahead and order it. When you get the part let me know and I will guide you in replacing it.

  • Flugel Jan 20, 2011

No. The last board we spoke of was the JLS-05-32E1 (power board) Back Panel #4 which I found and you dismissed. Correct.
The board in photo Back Panel #2 PT2670A3 I can't find. Thats the board with all the audio, video inputs soldered to the board., and appears to be the board you are looking for.
    Is that correct?

Hi.

A white speckled screen is often given by cable problems or it is a symptom of TCon board malfunction.

Try first disconnecting power for about fifteen minutes. Also check cables and connections at the back of the TV.

If the problem comes back, call the retailer to get the TV repaired. The internal boards (TCon, PSU and main digital controller) must be tested and eventually replaced.

Here an user manual for this model.

Regards.

Ginko.

The video processor could be locked up do to a small power surge, and if you unplug the set from the wall for 40MIN, it should reset back to normal, if that don,t work, you need the TV module changed out.

Hello egk... that tv is no longer under warranty and it sounds like it has more than one problem. I would seriously consider donating it to be recycled and purchasing another one in january or february when the winter sales will be outstanding. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

It has a year left but I'd have to take it to the Ukraine for repairs!
