Question about Dryers

I have a Westinghouse LD505E 5kg dryer - lights are on - drum not rolling - only feint buzzing noise - another answer in this forum suggests it is the capacitor - how is this replaced? the back of the unit is a metal plate that only reveals the heating element - how can I access the other bits? Thanks

Pull the heater element out, two screws and you can just access the cap ( $15 on ebay) held on by a nut on the back just to the right lower part of the motor. Take the two leads off and unscrew the cap. cheers.

Trying to fix an appliance yourself could void your warrenty. I would probably call the repairman and just pay the price.

Westinghouse dryer LD505E is to be mounted on a brick wall ,what size rawlplugs & screws are needed .I bought the wall bracket mounting kit

that unit does not have wall mounting information its user manual
or a wall mount bracket supplied with that dryer
its a 5KG dryer by the looks of it

thats means its load a with 5kgs of wet clothes on the floor
suggest to me its no meant to be wall mounted
http://laundry.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/whitewestinghouse/whitewestinghouse_dryer.html?p=7

wall mount kit might be say suit most dryers
you have to go by common sense
use bigger mountings and fixings that you think it needs
has to hold up on the wall
this much weight
the all up wet weight of clothes
the dryer dry weight empty
and steady any vibration with the rotation on full load

into wood walls depends on the thickness of wood

if into dry wall ...need to hit the wall studs centre
I would not try it

if going into brick concrete ...hammer drill in and . ranset bolts

Replacing belt on westinghouse 5kg LD505E dryer

Check YouTube - there are tons of videos on replacing the belt in dryers. You have to dismantle the frame in order to wrap the belt around the drum. Sheet metal screws hold dryers together - it is a fairly simple job, once you are acquainted with the general procedure.

I have a Westinghouse Sensordry LD505E Dryer which has suddenly stopped heating up

Either your dryer vent is clogged or your heating element / ignition coil has failed. It's called a hot surface igniter

My Westinghouse LD505e suddenly stopped working during a drying cycle and it won't start. Would anyone be kind enough to guess what could be the problem and advise a solution. It's 4years old

Probably a blown fuse due to a heater element problem or maybe a bearing problem. I recently worked on one and did a movie which shows the fuse location and all:

Hoover HDV 7 FM tumble drier. The drum is not turning (its making a loud buzzing noise like its trying to get going) and the filter light is on, although that is free from fluff. Is it time for a new drier...

sumanth m 's answer may well be correct because I have the same dryer and it has the same problem. I got a massive electric shock off mine and so I think the buzzing is a protection measure against a short circuit

Westinghouse ld505e lights up for will not start

Try opening the door, spin the drum by hand, then qi\uickly close& press start. If this works, then the capacitor has failed. About $30, easy to replace.
