Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

My monitor that heats my outside workshop shut down due to snow blocking the inlet/outlet pipe and now it doesn't start. The out let is clear. I put a voltmeter across the ignition terminals and the heating element never turns on. All the lights light up as if it is going to start but it never does. Any suggestions?

Inlet/ drain light is flashing,I have cleaned out the basket, but it is still flashing and wont start. what do I need to do know?

Difficult to get help if you don't say what dishwasher it is.
Is it a Meile? This is a common condition foe Meile dishwashers and it usually means there is something blocking the outlet beyong the basket. I have a Meile and the first part of this fault fixing guide is normal.

The pump impeller may be unable to turn due to some muck blocking it. The first thing to do is remove the cover of the impeller. It is under the filter in the bottom the dishwasher. They have changed the design over the years, but there will be a plastic clip that you push or squeeze to allow you to slip the cover off. In the cover there is a ball bearing, you should be able to shake the cover and hear the ballbearing move. You can see it from the underside. If it doesn.t move freely this could be the problem, but this is unusual.
Next with the part you have removed out of the dishwasher, close the dishwasher on and turn it on for 5-10 seconds, this is to try and clear the obstruction. Next open the dishwasher again and put your finger down the opening the cover you removed from the impeller and see if the impeller moves freely. If it does, put everything back together and see how it goes. If it still will not start it is likely to be a blockage in the outlet pipe.

First remove the impeller cover again, this to rellease any pressure in the outlet hose so water doesn't gush out quite as much when you do the next bit. Get a large bucket or two ready and with the machine off loosen the clamp on the outlet hose where it joins the s-bend at your sink and remove the pipe from the sink. Here is where you need the bucket or maybe two. Of course if it is blocked you don't need the bucket yet. Check the pipe and the nipple on the s-bend to see if there is a blockage and remove it, then replace and tighten the clamp. The outlet may be blocked by solidified fat or something else, this happens if fat it emptied down the sink and it doesn't take much. When the fat hits the cold water in the s-bend it solidifies straight away and if it gets in the dishwasher pipe it blocks it. A very common issue with all dishwashers and people who pour fat down the sink.

Hope this is all it is, but possibly the pump or something else is cactus.

Why does dryer start run a little beep 3 times cut off

Really you need to provide your model number. but that said... the number one cause of a dryer shutting down after a short warm-up is a blocked exhaust outlet. Dryers have a sensor that checks the exhaust temperature... if its not moving the hot air out side than it over heats and trips the sensor which will shut off the dryer for safety (no fires please!!). So check your exhaust outlet outside for lint blockage... check your exhaust hose/pipe for kinks where lint can build up and of course always check the lint screen for blockage.

On sensor cycle, the dryer flashes H1 or H2. Clothes never dry. Is it safe to run the dryer? Also, hardly any heat on timer cycle.

this could be down to the breather outlet pipe blocked up, or inlet filters blocked up,,,,check that the dryer can breath easly first,,,,
then check the temp thermostats it there cuttin out they will shut off the heat

Heat is on clothes are not drying

The air flow through the exhaust is blocked/clogged.

This usually happens at the vent where it exits the house, but can also be where the dryer connects to the vent in the floor/wall, and also occurs throughout the entire pipe length.

Make sure the inlet, pipe, and outlet are cleared. make sure the lint filter and surrounding area is clear.

You should hjave a good strong air flow comming out of the vent on the exterior.

(Improper airflow prevents the moisture from exiting the dryer.)

I am getting fault code h-20...whats the problem??

The inlet pipe may be blocked or the tap for the inlet is not open or turned on. The pressure switch may not be working properly. You need to look under the lid of the machine and middle left hand side at the top is the switch. Disconnect the clip and clear pipe then blow down it. The switch is not telling filler inlet that it is flled to correct level possibly due to it being dirty or clogged up. .

E20 is a drain problem.
Most likely is is blocked, so a good clean out is needed.
(turn off water and unplug) Pull out the machine, take outlet hose out, and clear drainpipe with a drain cleaner - then rinse through.
Clean outside of pipe, and check inside condition.
Replace & reconnect.
Try 2 cups of washing soda in the machine and do 2 hot washes to try and flush blocks through.
If this does not improve matters, you may have to strip the machine to clear the pump and outlet pipe manually.

Rinnai 431 wont start

You could have something as simple as a blocked flue pipe. Check outside and make sure the pipe is clear of ice or snow. Check the circulating fan and filter for lint. Be sure the lovers on the front of the stove are open and clean of lint.

Siemens Dishwasher - no water coming in

It could be 1 of 2 things, first (most likely) is that by turning it upside down some dirt has gotten into the pressure switch, that's a disc shaped device with 1 or 2 small tubes and some wires attached. in this case you have to find the switch (usually high up on the front or back) remove the longer tube and blow down it to clear the blockage.
Or it could be your inlet valve is not working, this needs ac mains on it, for a solenoid that opens the valve, again you may need to remove it & see if the coil isn't burned out, either a multimeter or just put mains on the 2 wires & hear if it clcks open. Inlet valves can sometimes get blocked, so they don't get the pressure needed to open, i also had this problem in a high-rise flat where the water pressure was too low!...hope this helps...
