You can't , the data can't be accessed externally. Just reset the router and do all the configuration again - anyway it will be faster than everything else you could try to fix that.

Netgear wireless router requiring a username and password

All routers when connecting to them for settings, will require a username and password, this is so nobody unauthorized can get into your router and change your settings.

1st, check the bottom of your router. Usually it will tell you what the Username and Password is.

If you cannot find this, then check the following site;
http://www.routerpasswords.com/
Click on the drop-down menu, and select Netgear.
On the bottom of your router, there should be a model number, or something indicating the model. Look for that in the list provided, and you should have your answer.

the default username and password for netgear router is admin and password

if in case you have change the username or password and you dont remember what it is just press the reset button at the back of the router for 5 sec, careful though cause this will also delete all the info that you have input in the router the first time such as isp info this will cause disconnection from the internet, but as soon as you know those info you can go ahaead and do this. this will also reset the username and pass of the wifi connection.

Netgear router try to connect but saying validating identity wat can i do

Reset your router back to it's factory settings by holding the reset button for about 5 seconds. I have provided a list of the most popular router brands. If it does not work you may need to google what your specific model's default IP address/default username/default passwords are, for example search for "Encore ENHWI-2AN3 default IP address" The default login info can change, it can depend on where you obtained your router. If you purchased it yourself from a store then the standard defaults should work. If you obtained your router from your Internet Provider you may need to contact your service provider. It also may depend whether it's an old or new model router as well. And you may need to press and hold the reset button on your router several times before it actually clears. Make sure you have a wired connection then once you have accessed your router simply run the Setup Wizard. Set your SSID as something you'll remember like "Mavericks Network" and your Password can be something like your phone number for example 3109876543

I am trying to helpy parents. They have a netgear wireless router. We know the ID but my mother made an 8-character long password that no one can remember. The router was originally set up on a computer...

Hi,
Welcome to Fixya Support
I am Michelle, and i will be assisting you regarding the issue
Try using a pen or paper clip to press the reset button on the back of the device. Keep the button pressed until the lights in the front of the Netgear router start flashing. The router will reboot after resetting the configurations.
Open a internet explorer browser window and enter 192.168.1.1
the Netgear router configuration console will open and will prompt you to enter username and password
Enter the default username and password. Now that settings have been reset, you can use the Netgear global default username and password listed below:
username: admin
password: 1234 or password
Unplug the router's power cable if these passwords do not work. If you are still unable to login, the router may not have been reset. While the router is unplugged, hold the reset button for 20 seconds before plugging in the power cord. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to gain access to the router, using the new admin username and password

Default factory password

Most of the NETGEAR devices, except ReadyNAS products and Fully Managed switches, have the following default username and password:
  • Username = admin
  • Password = password
    • For older devices, password = 1234
If you have changed the default password and have forgotten it, you will need to reset the NETGEAR device to factory default settings in order to use the default username and password. Click here to learn how to reset the NETGEAR device to factory default settings. Please note: restoring a device to its factory default settings will erase any changes you have saved to the device.

This applies to:
  • Most of the NETGEAR devices such as routers and smart switches.

Second computer

  • The router username is always admin
  • The default password is password or (for older routers) 1234
Try the default username and password before resetting the router to the factory defaults.
When a router resets, it goes back to the state when it was new — all information that was entered by hand is lost! Examples are critical things you need to get online, such as ISP username, ISP password, IP addresses, security keys, and ports and services that were opened. It all needs to be re-entered.
