The solution might be something else. I got a vulcan today and it wouldn't feed properly after the dummy. In other words the dummy stayed in place. I noticed that in the cover lid there is a part that guides the belt and when the belt is through it will disengage the lock keeping the lid in place. Also I saw excessive play or better said wobble in the moving part in the lid. After unscrewing the lid I found that the piece that pushes down didn't have the guide rod anymore. Courtesy of the previous owner. I carefully drilled out the remainder of the rod with a 6 mm drillbit and glued in a 6mm piece. The rod was cut from a large screw wich a top was unthreaded. The head was cut of and I cut it down to about 25 mm. Didn't meausure it, sorry! I glued the rod where the original rod was and put it all back together after the glue dried. Now the shells are being pushed down equal. The vulcan shoots fine again!

If the belt is off the track towards the barrel, you can use a thin flat head screw driver to pry the cartridge away from the barrel to allow the belt to be pulled through. That worked for me.

I had the same problem with two guns out of the box. Turned out that the dividers in the battery tray kept the batteries from touching each other on some brands of batteries. Remove the dividers and should work. You can verify this by measuring the voltage on the two terminals of the battery pack.
