My Asus X553M laptop is not booting up. Any ideas how to fix this problem?

Temitope, Hard reset. Open computer, remove battery, hold power button down (((1 minute))), reinsert battery, reassemble laptop, push/hold power button a couple seconds.
2nd fix, try to boot laptop without hdd.(hard drive). Remove the hdd, then turn on the laptop.. then it can get into the bios.. reset the bios to the default setting, turn off the laptop, and then turn it on again with hdd reinstalled. This seems to be what works in the forums with this issue found in Asus laptops. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Latop will not boot up

1.Ensure your battery is holding power. Some laptops will auto shut-off if the battery won't hold a charge. In that case, replace your battery and retry. Check your charging lights or indicators to see if your laptop is getting power and charging.

2.Check your AC to DC converter (the little black adapter you plug in your AC outlet.) This converts AC power into DC power. Is it abnormally hot? If so, it is probably burned out. Replace it. Note- high heat is not a true indicator of malfunctioning. It can be dead and cold as well. No power
indicators on your laptop could be a sign of a dead or bad converter also. Converters WILL get hot (this is normal.) If it is REAL hot (to touch), then this is not good.

3.Check your power cord. Are there nicks or cuts? If so, unplugg it from the AC power and repair with electrical tape- better yet, replace it. Many computer salvage stores carry power adapter cords. They're cheap.

4. Check your laptop lid switch. If it is broken, you may have power but your screen may not come on.

This is usually a little button or mechanism located close to the lid hinge that turns on or off your

screen when your lid is open or closed respectively. Normally the operator does not push this button.

These are fragile and broken easily on some laptop models. Sometimes these can be fixed, more often

they will require replacements. If you aren't an expert repair person, get a technician to

repair/replace it for you. Opening up laptops is a very delicate operation and much more difficult to

repair than desktops. It may be worth it to spend the money for repair.

5. If you have tried these easy solutions and it still won't power on, then your problem lies

elswhere. You may have an internal power switch or voltage regulator problem.. Internal problems will

require professional help.

My laptop won't turn on. I tried taking out the battery, a different battery, a differnet power cord. It won't turn on. Is there a way to reset it?

Are there any lights or indications on the battery itself that might tell you if the battery is good? I had a laptop with a similar problem and it turned out to be both a bad battery and a bad "power brick". replacing both fixed my issues. Also, try holding the power cable at the point where it connects to the laptop and push to the left or right. A friend's laptop would only start if you held the power cable to the left. Otherwise, it sounds like a mother board issue. Sorry.

Macbook pro won't start/charge

It appears as if your power supply is dead. The power supply is inline with your power cord and has a light on it, if I am correct. Since the green light was dim, then went out all together on your power supply, that would indicate that it would not take a charge any longer, and the dim light, down to none, was the rest of your battery draining. Assuming you tried multiple power outlets, my suggestion would to borrow a power source from a friend and check it, or go to best buy/Apple store and have them use one of theirs to see if it comes on.

My laptop won't turn on, even I try to plug the charger it won't charge. and the light indicator if it's charging is not on. The problem start when I using it while charging and it's...

Remove the battery and check the voltage on the battery, if low try to JUMP charge, if not replace. Also check the charging voltage with the adaptor connected to the latptop. If there is no voltage then the charger must be checked.
However if the battery and adapter seems good then the mother board is a suspect and it is ideal to get the help of Tosibha service for estimation.

Hi, my Fujitsu A1220 won't start up at all. I took out the battery to reset the laptop but when I put the battery back on or connect it via AC, it still won't start up. I see the Scroll Lock is brinking...

Here are some ideas to try.

1. Plug battery in and see by looking at the charging light if it's charging. The light should stay mostly constant during this process. If it is charging, then wait about 20 minutes. Unplug laptop and attempt to turn on with just the battery installed. If the laptop turns on, then you can be sure you have a bad AC adapter or a bad DC jack.

Uninstall the battery before attempting the next five steps.
2. Look for the light on the laptop that indicates that the AC adapter is plugged in. If that light isn't on, try plugging and unplugging the AC power jack and moving it around until the light shows its connected. If no light comes on, then it's possible you have a bad DC jack or the AC adapter needs to be replaced.

3. Try a different outlet. (I know it's obvious but it's worth a try).

4. If the indicator light is on and the laptop won't power on, then it's possible you have a bad switch board or stuck button. Make sure no buttons are stuck. Conversely, push hard on the power button and move it around in order to make sure you're making good contact.

5. If your laptop has another button that turns it on, such as an internet button, try that button instead of the normal power button.

6. Replace the AC adapter. Find and buy a compatible AC adapter online. You can usually find them reasonably cheap.

7. Replace the switch board and/or the flex flat cable that runs from the switch board to the mainboard. (This requires some technical know-how).

Hope one of these ideas helps.
Good luck and thanks for using FixYa.

I have a Sony Vaio laptop, model PCG-384L. It will not power up. My wife indicated that she push some button that lock the power. Can seem to find the button that controls or locks the power button. ...

Typically that flashing light means low battery. Which makes sense, as you probably have an issue with the AC Adapter that you plug into the computer to charge it, or the DC Jack that this adapter plugs into on the laptop. Either of these things will cause your computer to not charge the battery, and if there isn't enough power it won't turn on.
