Prior to seeing the Microsoft page you should see a page with maybe the Acer logo. At the bottom of that page it will have an option of pressing an "F" key located at the top of your keyboard. One of these option may be to allow you to enter the system recovery function of you computer. BEWARE: by entering the system recovery you will be given options of restoring your computer to a previous recovery point or it will allow you to go to recovery mode offering you to recover and reformat your hard drive. I doing so this will erase everything that you have added and restore the computer to the original "out of box" state. Usually it is the F10 or the F9 key. The other option would be to run the recovery discs that may or may not have come with the computer. Windows XP offers user a one time option of creating these recovery discs from the start-programs-accessories-system tools.

Hope this helps
Good Luck

It appears that your Windows Registry is corrupted. You can try to use a Registry repair utility like CCleane to fix it. If that doesn't work you will have to reload Windows OS (Operating System). For more info no this error code Google "c000021a".

Computer begins to start up and then turns off after windows xp is displayed. Reformatted drive installed windows 2000, same thing happens

Hi,

The issue that you experience might be problem of your power supply please change the location or check the power supply of computer. If you shut down your Windows XP-based computer, your computer may restart instead of shutting down. The computer may also restart unexpectedly while you are using the computer to perform certain tasks. An error message may appear on a blue screen when the computer restarts.

For more information, please click the link below;

Moreover, check the motherboard, CMOS battery or SMPS, as that might be one of the reason. Any of such device not functioning properly may cause computer restarts automatically.
