If I understand the wording on the max rebate you will need to go with one of the high effiency on demand heaters such as bosch or whirpool .There are several more manufactures that will qualify for up to 1600.00 on taxes and some dealers offer there own incentive programs. Most of these heaters are going to cost in excess of 2000.00 plus installation but they will save operating expenses. Hope this helps. Thank you

Thank you for your help. I was able to find out that a typical heater does not qualify, it has to be a pump heater. What would you recommend as a replacement heater. Thank you for your assistance.

I know I'm going to spell this wrong but my book is in my shop but I'll try. Contact the dealer you like or one that handles the Rinnai brand and see what they have to offer they were just coming on the market around here when I became disabled so I don't have much personal experience with them but a good friend of mine is the manager for a local dealer and he says they are about the best. Good luck and if I can help at all let me know. Thank you

I have Rheem Pvw50, 50 gallon water heater installed at home. For the past few days, there is a noise coming out of blower motor. What could be the reason?

Your water heat is at an age that I would recommend replacing the whole unit. That one cannot be too efficient and most likely has sediment built up on the bottom of it pretty bad.

Green active lights on but not red standby and no hot water

If tankless computer is less than 5 years old, then call Rheem for local technician qualified to work on this type of computer that heats water.

If tankless is older than 5 years, then replace with tank-type electric water heater for $285 from Lowes.

Avoid Rheem, Richmond, Palmoa, GE water heating products since this company does not post service manuals.

Choose AO Smith, American, State, craftmaster, Whirlpool etc.

I have a Richmond tankless water heater and it has L1 error code...can somebody help me with this?

Might be able to help. Except L1 does not show on any error code file.
Copy following link for Rheem Richmond Ecosense etc computer water heater troubleshoot resources
http://waterheatertimer.org/Troubleshoot-Rheem-Tankless-water-heater.html
Are you sure the error is not IL? Delime tankless.
Or UL flashes and indicates reset.
Or CL flashes and indicates fault history is cleared.
Or error 11 combustion failure? Call for service.
Or P1? Low water pressure, clean water filter check for leaks and crossover caused by bad single-handled faucet cartridge.
I recommend calling Rheem to find local technician who is qualified to work on tankless computers. Tankless are not ordinary water heaters, and they require continual maintenance to avoid common error codes, especially as unit gets 2-3 years old, after warranty has expired.
The required maintenance and expense of repairs, and general fact that people cannot make their own repairs, make tankless computers a bad choice for heating water.
If unit is 4-5 years old, it might be best to install tank-type heater for $385 from Lowes and cut losses.

Where is the combustion shutoff system on a Rheem 30 gal moble home hot water heater

Disproportionate number of water heater problems are Rheem-related, yet Rheem is just 1 of 3 major water heater manufacturers.

If you have Rheem tank-type gas water heater, and the combustion shut off has tripped the FV system, then there is a broken glass vial located under the burner.
Rheem does not post service manuals, and they may or may not send the glass vial for replacement. Depending on model which appears on label on side of tank. Year of manufacture are 3rd and 4th digits in serial number.
And they may want you to contact a qualified service technician (plumber)
You will have to replace glass vial, and clean the arrestor screen and clean the combustion parts, check gas pressure, and check venting.
Other companies post service manuals and do not rely on the glass vial.

I have a paloma tankless water heater ptg-74pvn-2 that gives me the error code c2 11. looks like everybody has a problem with this. what can i do to fix it, surely enough they should have some easy way of...

Easy solutions for C2 11:

Rheem is one of the big manufacturers but has disproportionate number of questions at fixya since they try to funnel problems through service techs instead of posting do-it-yourself service bulletins. People want do-it-yourself service bulletins, as appear on the Bosch site for their products. Easy-fix in this sense would be to buy Bosch, and read service manuals aforehand to see if you have testing skills and equipment to maintain and repair tankless water heater.

Easy solution for C2 11 Rheem problem is don't install gas tankless water heater, since all costs are energy and tankless are expensive to install, maintain, repair, and replace for the mere savings of 1-8 per month.

Third solution for C2 11 no-ignition is to clean burner and combustion parts, and sand carbon off the igniter, on a yearly basis, as recommended in manual.

Fourth solution is to call a qualified service technician each year as recommended in manual, and have technician fix problem and catch water heater up on recommended service. This person can check other causes for C2 11 such as bad igniter, bad gas solenoid, low gas pressure, air in gas line, improper unit grounding, bad wiring, bad sensors, etc.
This check-up can also make sure vent drain is working properly and that acidic water vapor and other resulting combustion by-product are going into the household drain and eventually out to sea instead of dripping down into the heat exchanger causing rust and premature failure of exchanger.

Next solution will not solve C2 11 error code, but can address other error codes before they happen: Maintain water heater on yearly and monthly basis as recommended in manual. This is good for folks who like projects.

Every time it rains our instantanious hot water system comes up with error C9 and C12

Before calling service technician, open following link for Rheem troubleshooting resources including contact and chat and typical manuals:
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/ErrorcodeTroubleshooting.pdf
http://waterheatertimer.org/Troubleshoot-Rheem-Tankless-water-heater.html

Error codes are start points for troubleshooting and can include long list of things including multiple causes.
Error code 12 shows 'condensation collar' and 'vent lengths' which are associated with the vent to outdoors. Changes in air pressure during low-pressure rain events MIGHT affect the venting and cause tankless not to ignite, and MIGHT cause excessive condensation. Improper condensation can rust out the heat exchanger without showing any signs of problem until the unit is ruined.
C9 is not listed. Contact Rheem, and then add a comment saying what Rheem suggests as solution for C9 error. This will help others in the community with same-similar problem.

Instruction manual recommends yearly maintenance by qualified service technician.
This maintenance would usually check all things shown in error 12.

If you are paying for your water, I litre per hour is going to cost you. If the unit is 15 years old, I would seroiusly comsider replacing it buy, if it's just a bad valve, you could try to replace it. If it is cracked at the threads, it's time to replace it for sure.

Have 2 Rheem 50 gal NG water heaters in tandem. Neither pilot will stay lit. They are 17 years old and never had this problem before

the most common problem is the thermocouple being busted. If thats not the case then the gas valve may be busted but that isn't very common.

Eitherway this required the burner being taken out so I wouldn't recommend anyone to do this who isn't a proffessional.
