When I test my Yamaha 6500 speakers they all work. One does not work when tv is on

Need to know which one is failing. Since they are only speaker, I'd run a known working speaker wire to each one. If they all work, you have a setting in your tuner/amplifier that is not set right for video sound playback. Looking at your users manual may help. Look at the speakers used for each speacker uses configuration.

Best of luck.

How can I connect Senheiser wireless headphone to Yamaha RX773 without using front headphone jack as this mutes speakers, I have hearing problems, my wife doesn't, I tried both av audio outs in the back...

Your receiver has Zone-2 functionality. For Zone-2, it has both speaker (powered) output and pre-out line outputs. According to Yamaha FAQ, these pre-out outputs are independent on the main volume settings. So if your wireless headphones have their own volume settings, you can change the volume independent on speakers volume.

If you want same volume for speakers and headpohones, use the PRE-OUT FRONT outputs on the back. If you want different volumes (and listen to headphones even with speakers muted), use ZONE-2 OUT outputs on the back.

In all receivers when you connect the headphone it will swich off the speakers. Its normal. When you use the headphone there is no need for external speakers its the principle behind this. .

When i plug in the head phones into my pioneer dsx-d557 receiver the speakers stay on. The headphone jack works but whats the point if the speakers still work.

It may seeem counter-intuitve but there are those who would love to have that ability.

You can always turn the speakers off while you're in the vicinity of the front panel plugging in the headphones.

My denon AVR-888 receiver displays H/P INPUT and flashes on and off which in turn turns all sound on and off in correspondence. ??? i have a 1 year old who like all 1year old play with everything. could it...

H/p is for headphone. It automatically turn the speakers of when headphones are used. Might have a bad connection on the head phone jack board, or your 1yr old put some thing metal in the jack. Try using a head phones.

H/p input on

I had a similar problem and solved it by simply blowing in the headphone jack (h/p input).
