First you need to find a Windows wired or wireless device already connected to the network in order to find out the required settings

Windows XP
1. Click start --> (sometimes settings) --> Control Panel --> Network Connections
2. Double click on the active connection which will say connected underneath
3. Click Support
4. Click Details
5. Now the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Alternate DNS which are displayed should be noted.

Windows Vista
1. Click Start --> Control Panel --> Network and Sharing Center
2. Click on "View Status" to the right of your connection
4. Click Details
5. Now the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Alternate DNS which are displayed should be noted.

Set these values under "manual settings" in the Wii but add 1 to the last number for the IP Address as this has to be unique on your network

You may need to update your wii console in order for you to get to the wii shop. Try a system update from the system menu and then try again with the wii shop. I hope this helps!

How do i conect my wii to my internet

To connect your Wii to the internet:
  1. Power on your Wii console and press the A Button on the Wii Remote to reach the Wii main menu. Use the Wii Remote to select the "Wii" button.
  2. Select "Wii Settings" to access the "Wii System Settings" menu.
  3. Using the arrow on the right side of the screen, scroll to page two and select "Internet."
  4. Select "Connection 1: None" (Don't see "None" in Connection 1? Click the Connection 1 button, then choose "Clear Settings.")
  5. Click on "Wireless Connection" and then "Search for an Access Point."
  6. Select "OK" and the Wii will display all the wireless networks it finds.
  7. Select the wireless network that is yours.
  8. Select "OK," "Save Settings," and then "Yes." As long as you see "The connection test was successful," the "Wii Support Code" does not matter and can be ignored

Cannot connect the wii to wireless internet

Goto 'wii options' (bottom left of screen). Wii settings-> then page over to 'Internet' then 'connection settings' then 'conection 1'. Clear any setings. Then go back to connection 1 and click 'wireless connection' then 'search for access point'. If your wireless router is set up right in your home then you should see it as an option when you click 'OK'. Choose your connection, then enter your router password. If your wii can't find an access point then either your router isn't set up correctly or your wii's wireless is defective.

We bougt a router but i can not conect to my wii

The Wii conneects to your router via wireless communication.
First make sure thw Wii is not too far form the router, ideally in the same room while you are setting it up.
On the Wii screen go to the bottom round button 'Wii' for Wii Options.
Then select Wii Settings. Then click on the arrow to go to Wii System Settings 2.
Select 'Internet', then 'Connection Settings'.
Select ' Connection 1' then 'Wireless connection', ' Search for Access point'.
After the search the Wii will display all wireless networks in range. Select your router from the list and enter the required secure I.D. key for your router (if secured).

Connecting internet

The Wii has built in WiFi so if you have a wireless modem all you will need to do is go to the Wii settings menu and select Internet, Next choose Connection Settings then select Connection 1. Here you will have the option to choose a Wireless conection -OR- Wired connection. If you have a wireless modem or Router click Wireless connection and choose Search for an access point then
select your access point from the list. Save then start a connection test.

If you do not have a wireless modem or router you must buy the LAN Adapter which you will find here http://www.amazon.com/Wii-LAN-Adapter-Nintendo/dp/B0014KM2KG. You will need that to connect a ethernet cord from your modem to the Wii. You would choose Wired connection and click ok to start the test. Good luck and have fun (",)

Cannot connect the Wii to my wireless network

at the wii menu, go to the settings by clicking the circle with the word "wii" at the bottom left. press + or - until u see the word internet. click that, select an empty connection (1, 2, or 3), select wireless conection, then search for a connection. if the wii finds any connections, they will show up. click on the one you want to use, and if you need a password, put it in. if no connections show up, you are not within range of any, or your motom and/or wireless router are not working properly

Try adjusting the "Channel" your wireless router broadcasts on. We highly recommend setting your wireless router to either channel 1 or 11. This can potentially increase the download speed.
