Jacke the front of the cycle up under the motor with the cycle on the center stand. The first thing you do after removing the front wheel and axle is to reach up into the lower fork tube with a hex key and loosen the socket cap that holds the tubes to the lower tubes. After the socket cap has been put back in loosely, you can now unspring the fork top caps. The spring pressure from the top caps is necessary to loosen the lower socket screw. The upper and lower triple clamps are the best way to hold on to the fork tubes. The tubes never have to be removed form the clamps. After you unspring the tops , remove the lossened socket caps from the bottom of the forks and slide the lowers off the tubes.

Testimonial: "that was very helpful thanks but still having troubles they wont come apart"

When the spring pressure ( with the fork tops on) is not enough to loosen the socket cap or if the socket caps get stripped, you can drill down just enough to break off the top of the socket cap, slide off the tube, grab the end of the screw with a pliers , and unscrew the threaded shaft piece(socket cap thread) out of the fork spring stopper. New socket caps and sealing washers can be purchased cheaply at most hardware stores.

Tri-pot joint housing stuck on driver side of 2000 chrysler 300 m while removing cv joint axle shaft , outer and shaft removed iner tri pod joint stuck to axle shaft on trans. tried prying hammering heat...

I have had this problem many times. I have always had to take the clamp off the drive axle boot near the transmission and take it apart there. I have never been able to get one off that did not pop off easy even after I had the transmission out. You just have to reuse the part that is stuck on the transmission and get a new clamp to re clamp the drive axle together. If you have any more questions feel free to ask and Ill do my best to answer them.

Is there a simple way to replace a fan belt on a Ford 8N?

there should be a coupler on the driven shaft. take out bolts and gently pry apart. this should allow enough room to work the new belt around the crank pulley

91 Olds custom cruiser front shocks

There are 2 ways to solve your problem. One mechanic friend of mine always used his deep socket and snapped the shaft, freeing the top end of the shock. If you prefer to loosend the bolt, hold the shaft with pliers in one hand while loosening the bolt with the other. Both methods work equally as well. Best of luck.

Changing front passenger axle

It is fairly simple, Block your wheels and loosen the lug nuts a little, jack your car up until you have the tire off ground, remove tire, remove the center nut on the tire hub. pull the whole assembly uot and away from the car, let the assembly hang down and push to one side, use something to hold it away from work area, fallow shaft until you come to a support, loosen the support. pull, **** hard shaft towards you. it will take a great effort to loosen the shaft but it should pull loose as one piece. get the new one and put it into the same route as the old shaft. look at entry point into the transmmision make sure that the new shaft has been properly seated, you will feel or hear the spline click into place when properly seated. then follow disassembly instructions. Go to the library if you need pictures and detailed step for step instructions. hope this gets you there.

it is not recomeded to take it apart to get to the hard drive.
does it not work???
if you still need it apart. try lifting the rubber feet from it.
also this maybe a snap together unit with small amounts of glue at the corners. you may need to wedge something in the groove.
good luck. i dont have one in front of me so i can't see the unit.
