Hello ariuz1953
Your solution is to simply Factory Reset the Z22, and put in your own new name and password. I have most answers to all Z22 questions. see:

Just had to do a hard reset myself and it's not straight forward! While holding down the power button, BRIEFLY press the reset button on the back of the palm. DO NOT RELEASE the POWER button until you see the GRAY screen with the Palm logo (not the first screen with the palm logo). That should start the hard reset for you.

Your problem might be a simple one. Hopefully so:
Run a business card around the edges of the screen between the screen and the plastic housing to see if there is any trapped dirt or other debri. If there is, it will hold down that point of the screen and prevent any further input. Be sure to remove anything you find.
Also, sometimes the screen protectors themselves will shift just enough to cause the same issue. Be sure it is not wedged tightly between the screen and case.
I hope this is it and helps!
SOURCE: how to do a hard reset on a palm z22?
Hi here are the steps but ensure to backup data before you make a hard reset
Press and hold the power button
While holding the power button, use the tip of the stylus (or a similar object without a sharp tip) to gently press and release the reset button inside the hole on the back of your handheld.
Wait for the Palm Powered™logo to appear, and then release the power button.
When you see the message that warns you about erasing all of the info on your handheld, do one of the following:• Press Up on the 5-way navigator to finish the reset and show the touchscreen.• Press any other button to do a soft reset.
When prompted, tap to align the screen, and then select the language you want to use on your handheld. A screen appears showing the Palm logo and a progress bar.
When the Welcome screenappears, the hard reset iscomplete
Hope this helps and do let me know

GO TO PREFERENCES AND CLICK ON SECURITY AND UNASSIGN YOUR PASSWORD AND THEN TRY TO SYNC AGAIN. THIS FIXED MY PROBLEM.
SOURCE: My Palm Z22 won't turn on. If I do a hard reset
It absolutely won't, you don't have to worry. I've done it several times, and I know I was really nervous at first, but it's fine.
