I have the same problem with my tv. I have the same problem with my tv every morning when I watch the news. My quick fix is to tap the back of the tv this will bring the picture back. I know that this may not be recommended. But I will unplug and try this method to have it reset. If this does not work I will be on the phone with Insignia asking about my warranty plan.

Green light goes on but the screen stays black. Any way to fix this without the repair man. Is this tv broke?

While watching tv the screen just went black. I still have audio but no visual. When the tv is initially turned on I see the "please wait" screen briefly then nothing. Of course calling support was no help. Anyone have any solutions or ideas.

All of a sudden I will lose picture on my tv. I turn it off and on and the picture returns but not for very long. I'll try the hard reset. I'm happy that I'm not the only one that this has happened to but at the same time I'm a bit annoyed that I have to deal with this after owning it less than 8 weeks. I've called the PSP number and have to wait til tomorrow for a potential "repair".

My husband and I bought this TV over a year ago. We WERE really happy with our purchase. After 8 months this happened with the sound playing and nothing on the screen. We took it back to Best Buy and they "fixed" it when they sent it away. Now, 5 months later it just did it again. We did not buy an extended warranty because every Consumer Report issue said that it was not worth it to buy on the LCD TVs. Now we are screwed because it will cost us money to get it fixed. No wonder INSIGNIA only has a one year warranty.

Try a hard restart, which simply means unplugging the power cord, and replugging it after 4 hours have passed. This technique helps to reprogram the electronics, to a certain extent. ( Turning it off and on again by a switch will not work). If the picture does not return, then you might need the expertise of a TV repairman.

How to reset tv. Have sound but black screen

LCD's use a colorful crystal see through display which only visible when light is shining through it. if you have sound and no picture it's always a faulty PSU. Very easy to change out actually.

Blck with sound would be bad inverter or backlight

Blue withoutsound again inverter on the decoder is bad this does power both backlight and decoder so I would say inverter but check it into a shop as I cannot see the TV from here @ @ But I am sure my advice will give you a level playing field with the repair shop.

Thanks and please do rate postivly have a happy new year!
