You can look for the driver yourself by going to this page

    http://www.vaio-link.com/downloads/updat...

You need to select the model from the last drop down list.

Ones you find the correct one a new page will load, on the new page you will need to select windows vista on the operating system, a new page will load again then you need to scroll down the page to get to the driver list.

Ones on the list locate the audio driver and download it

for example I picked a random model from the list and found

SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC Driver 6.10.0.5286

that one was under VGN-FE31M please check the model on your laptop and find the correct one from the list.

If you have any problems drop me a line and I will look into it.

    Thanks,

    Ekse

Windows doesn't recognize my sound card and I can't locate a driver, for it. I don't think the sound card is bad, as it worked before I reformatted my harddrive and added the software.

Install the latest Sound driver from the website.

link: support.dell.com
Click on "Drivers & Downloads",
Enter your "Service Tag",
Locate the right driver, download it.. & Install it.

Hope it works....

Bought an Acer Aspire 5535 yesterday and had screen problems, i.e went blank after a period, but not always. Took it back and got it exchanged for another 5535. Experiencing the same problem. Is there a...

The complete solution to this fault (Acer 5535 keeps crashing under vista) is to use Windows XP instead of Vista. Set up a Dual Boot so you can CHOOSE to load XP or Vista each time you turn on the laptop. I've put XP on my 5535 and it's SO much faster and seems perfectly stable now - no crashing at all.

A full video showing how to do this is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdfU9TXIAd4
Once you've done this you won't have any problems with the laptop anymore.
This is a perfect solution to the crashing problem!

HAVE A SUMVISION PCI TO USB & 1394 COMBO CARD. I AM RUNNING WINDOWS VISTA AND THE CARD DOES NOT SUPPORT THIS IT ONY GOES UP TO WINDOWS XP. GUY THAT I BOUGHT IT FROM SAID I CAN JUST UPDATE DRIVERS ON...

Hi,
The way you do this is to take note of what the card IS, and who the maker IS and the model number which should be printed on the board. If by chance it isnt you will have to look at what other numbers you can identify it with. or you may be able to download the right drivers by identifying it by picture.
First, the maker =
http://www.sumvision.com.cn/searchResults.aspx?ptype=43

Because you have not given a model number I cannot give you the precise drivers.
How ever you asked how to find them. Go to that site, match your model number with the correct driver download for your version of windoze.
I noticed that they do not have VISTA drivers for the card I think~ you have. You may write the company for specific drivers for VISTA but I doubt they will give you any. If the XP drivers work in VISTA you are in business. If not, it may be a VISTA incomatibility problem more than anything else. Vista is very challenging. MS is actually allowing people to go back to XP at no charge until Jan something in 09.
Once you have identified and downloaded the correct drivers double click to unzip it to a folder. Go to that folder and READ any read files it has before you start and follow the directions they state. It wold be wise to set a system restore point or do a back up ( your choice) before you begin.
Thank you and good luck. *s*

VAIO VGN-A190 works great with XP, but is very slow with VISTA! The CPU is 100% utilized with VISTA every time there is a disk access or screen update (unsure which one)!

The reason is your machine is too slow for VISTA. Your machine need better vidio hardware and more ram.

Vista is more graphic intensive.

I disconnected my son's lap top and we can not connect to the internet on his lap top It's saying on the lap top can not display this page Laura

Try connecting to http://209.235.250.53/

If it works, the laptop is using a bad DNS address. How you fix that depends on the operating system - XP or Vista.

Hi i have an hp pavilion dv2000 lap top, i am trying to record my acoustic guitar into the comp. This lap has conexant high definition audio sound card inbuilt. However when i try and plug a microphone...

The mic may be muted on the computer. In XP, double click the volume control icon in the bottom right of the screen to get the mixer. If you don't see the microphone input, go to 'options' then 'properties' and place a check in the box to show it. Then make sure it is unmuted and the volume is up.
In Vista, right-click the volume icon and choose recording devices and make sure it is on and volume up.

If you really want to format it and wipe everything then you will need a copy of Windows Vista to boot up from, but if I were you I would give Vista the elbow and buy XP instead.
