Use the gear you normally drive in.(you have quadratrac correct?) The low position is only for pulling heavy loads on slippery surfaces at low speeds.

Under 35mph its normally recommended that you utilize 4 wheel low it is good for maximizing the torque needed to pull out of deep snow. Moderate-Aggresive Mud and Snow tires also work hand in hand. ~Daniel.

While driving in the snow, the engine light comes on and starts lugging. Is it a problem with snow in the air intake?

I'm not familiar with where the air intake is on this vehicle but it sure sounds like that could be what is happening, locate the air inlet snorkel and if possible relocate it higher. If this is the problem you should be able to find more info on at fordforum.com

2002 cadillac escalade service stability light came on after driving through deep snow

There are 4 sensors in each wheel , driving on hard old snow could cost damage to anything under car , the first thing I would check Is to see if they are all intact , second I would check if the are where the sensors are clear of any obstructions , check that are pulled broken , there other more tests to be done if the light still there , but it would require a multimeter and a lift to this , by testing unplugging each sensor and testing sensor resistance , while spinning the wheel you should have At least three the same resistance if one is bad it will have give either two much resistance or no resistance at all .
note :- this is just a general idea in what to look for , I didn't technically or physicllay looked at your vehicle and its spec's please becareful web working under car , car must be secured for your Saftey , good luck

Dear Sir! just wanted to know about the TC2 on deep now, today when I am driving my Hummer H2 on deep snow and my passenger right wheel spinning, then I stop my truck and put on neutral and switch from 4Hi...

on your hummer ,as on other 4x4 if in 4 wheel you must have slippage on the tires or you will snap the drive shafts or u joints.the wheels on a turn will turn at diff speeds thats why in 4 wheel it feels like you are crawling over your own fender.its ok if on packed snow or rain but if you have good grip tires it might do it in the rain.never have in 4 wheel lock on dry pavement.

What all-season tire would you reccommend for a 2002 Ford F150 2 wheel drive truck? Must go through deep Pa winter snow storms

Don't waste your money on all season tires if you are going to be wading through deep snow. Get a good aggresive mud and snow tread for winter driving. I've had good luck with Goodyear's in Eastern Canadian winters. Hope this helps.

After 2 foot snow and riding on snow packed roads, rumbling noise from under car.

With all due respect, what the H___ are you doing driving in 2 Feet of SNOW? The rumbling noise you hear is most likely caused from Snow being impacted in the CV Joints, Wheel Wells and anywhere else from freezing in place after driving in the "Deep Snow". The solution is to have the care raised on a Hoist and Pressure Washed to remove all Snow and Ice from the the entire Bottom Side of the Vehicle. It then should be allowed to dry thoroughly in that building before being driven. Additionally, if any noises occur upon exiting that facility turn around and have it repaired before it costs you untold thousands of dollars to repair.

Next time you have "DEEP SNOW" wait until the Roads have been cleared, salted or sanded and are back down to pavement before driving on them.

I have a 97 mountaineer with no manual. I can't figure out how to engage the all wheel drive and its a blizzard out there. Help!!!

The truck(if it's a 4x4 and not a 2x4)has an automatic setting where the truck is in automatic 4 wheel drive when it's needed. If it becomes to harsh out with deep snow, the you must turn the dash mounted switch to 4x4 high, but do not drive in 4x4 high if the ground it dry. The high 4x4 is intended for deep snow or loose sand and dirt. The switch is on the dash just to the upper left side of your radio. If there is No switch, then you may have the FULL TIME all the time 4x4 type and then it's always in 4x4 mode. Hope that helps...

How does 4 wheel drive work?

Hi there , in order for your 4 wheel to work you have to drive a couple feet for everything to lock. If you are already stuck and you put it into 4 wheel, it won't engage. hope this helps you out
