Please check all speakers cables for short circuit-disconnect all speaker-put volume low-wait and observe it if no shut down -go to next step-connect your speaker one by one until you find the bad one, start with speaker cable(try another good cable) and then speaker.if shut down happened again while you connect nothing to your system you will have inside problem and ask for service center to fix it.

Dead display? not a problem, as long as the sound is there.

Can you explain a bit more? Generally speaking when this kind of component shows that behavior means that is stuck in protect mode because it has an internal fault, and furthermore in the power amp output section.

Hi can I hook up my marantz mm500u amp to my pioneer 305 vsx audio reciever

I presume you just want to slave the Marantz to play whatever the Pioneer is playing.

Run a pair of RCA cables from either the Pioneer Tape Monitor REC or the VCR/Tape 1 Out jacks to the desired Marantz Input jacks. DON'T activate the corresponding switch on the Pioneer.

Only the basic Leftand Right channel programming that the Pioneer plays will be available at the Marantz. You will NOT have centralized volume control at the Pioneer.

Relay clicks, no display only the volume lights

Hello,
This is a common problem with a few of the Pioneer of that era (VSX-3300, 3700, etc). A secundary power supply line is faulty and it prevents your display from working. It is not an easy DIY, but a local tech should be able to fix. It is not always the same exact cause, as there are a couple transistors, a zener diode and a cap that can fail.
You can continue to use it without any detrimental effects on the unit, and can guess the settings.
Good luck

Pioneer VSX-516-S/K amplifier - loss of sound in speakers

This sounds like the amp has a system memory problem. The chips inside your amp that deal with it might be faulty or they loose the information due to a power loss, often caused by memory retention capacitors.
You can tell that to the repair man and see what he says, but personal I would go to another, try contacting Pioneer for a recommended engineer in your area.

LED light dont come on!!! Pioneer audio receiver VSX-9700s

Do you mean that the display that show the audio source or mode doesn't turn on? Try shining a bright flashlight at the display and see if you can read it. If you can, then the backlight light bulbs have died.

Replacing it will be a pain but you may find a usable replacement at Radio Shack. Just measure the voltage that goes to the bulbs and find one with similar ratings. They are probably 12v lamps. You will need to remove the display from the front panel of the amp and desolder the old lamps. Getting at the bulbs is the hardest part.

Stand-by light on, but receiver won't power up

Power supply problem. Most equipment today has remotes and the power supply has to remain on to sense the remotes signal.
But the actual receiver section does not get power until the remote says so or you hit the power on button on the unit. Internally the supply then feeds the device. Most likely cause is a power surge or storm.
See if the remote will power it up?
I presume this is still under warranty. If you don't have it plugged into a good surge supression outlet strip, Get one!
