Dvd and vhs do not open and eject

Check power supply and if that fails use the manual release on the DVD. you will probably have to take the case off to get the video out though.

I insalled the software, but I can't get the videos from my camera onto my computer. When I put in the usb, it tells me it could perform faster in a different port but I've tried all my ports. I just want...

I think your PC is drawing attention to the difference between USB 1.1 and USB 2 ports, USB2 being much faster.

It wouldn't do this if you had USB2 ports on your PC.

Now working on the premise that your copying video tape to your PC rather than copying video files to your PC.

Other than rebuilding your PC or buying a new one will USB2 ports, you could

1) If its a laptop, use the firewire port. Just buy a firewire cable.
2) If its deskstop, buy a firewire PCI card (Not much, try ebay). You'll also need a firewire cable.
3) Carry on using the kit that you've already got, its just going to take a lot longer.

A final thought comes to mind, especially if the process is to copy tape to dvd.

I've have friends have no end of problems using these Dazzle and similar products in conjunction with a PC to make a DVD copy. The big issue being lip sync problems.

The way I prefer, and much more reliable is to daisy chain a

Camcorder/VHS recorder to a DVD recorder with a hard drive and finally a TV for monitoring.

Press play on the camcorder/VHS and record on the DVD player.

Once complete, edit on the DVD player and then write to DVD.

When transfering the VHS to my external hard drive, the audio is not in sync with the video. What can I do??? I'm using the DAZZLE DVD Recorder Convert device and have Windows XP.

Try to capture the video first in your drive C and please check if you will get the same result. If not try capture the whole video and do the copy and paste so that you can transfer it to your external hard drive.

If you still getting the same result when capturing the video to the drive C.

Try to defrag your hard drive C. Disable your antivirus and firewall connection.

Update the driver of your video card and sound card.

If your using a laptop or the desktop. Make sure that the dazzle device is connected at the back USB and not in the front.

Hope this help

Is this a good item to invest in?

To me this is alot like Roxio VHS to DVD. What this has in common with the roxio product is they both hook up by a USB cable. The video quallity on the roxio product was not very clear and the Dazzle product has the same kind of video quality problems. Your best bet is to get a good video capture card that plugs into an PCI slot cause they run more stable and you get better video quality.

If you have just a laptop then this product would be slightly better then Roxio.

ON RECORDING DVD FROM TAPE THE PICTURE ON MY COMPUTER SC REEN IS RUNNING JERKY.THEN WHEN THE DVD HAS COPIED THE VIDEO ON PLAYBCK THE MUSIC IS OUT OF TIME WITH THE FILM TIME ITS REALY THE CYNCRONISATION IS...

There can be a whole gambit of issues with these Dazzle devices. I hate them. Also friend have tried to copy to PC via firewire from mini DV camcorders. After a video of just a few minutes they run into lipsync problems.

For what its worth, I've managed to copy my VHS home video to DVD without issue and you may already have the equipment.

I hook up my VHS recorder with a DVD recorder which also has a HDD. Daisy chaining it on to a TV to monitor. All with scart leads.

Play the tape, record to the DVD hard drive. Finally edit and dub to DVD.

I am running on a Dell XPS and my dazzle dvd recorder wont work.

Hi and Welcome to fixya!

I suggest to you to double click on Instant DVD Recorder Icon and choose go directly to Advance mode. Click next. On step number 1 click the pull down arrow and choose dazzle DVC 100. Click on options and choose video input. If your cable connection is the yellow red and white cable then choose Video composite, If S-video cable then choose Video S-video. If you have a VHS player click VHS input and click okay.
Next when everything is done turn your camcorder, vhs, vcr and then hit the play button.

That is the time that the video image is showing to the preview screen of the computer. Still not showing disconnect the dazzle device and place to another usb port.

If your dazzle device is not showing under step number one, you need to download and install the driver to Pinnacle Website.
