Question about Sony KP-57HW40 57" Rear Projection Television
Okay, so I have a rear projection tv and it's flyback transformer is going bad. I know these things are dangerous and can easily kill a person. So before I go trying to take it out I was hoping someone could share thier knowledge of safety when removing these. It's amazing how little info I could find on the net about safety. I'm also curious on how the red wires are removed from the flyback. I know they don't just pull out, at least not easily. The flyback is Sony part number 145328521. Any help or a complete walkthru on what to do and what not to do would be greatly appreciated. This is a great HiDef TV and there is no reason for it to go to the dump for a part that will cost me $70 just because the repair man wants $400 to do the repair.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes its dangerous because of its high voltage, but you can remove it yourself, just unplugged the power cord, then get a screw driver insert it to the high caps connected in the flyback its color red push the pin inside and pull it off be sure not to touch the metal part of your screw driver, then thats the time to unsolder it...
