The reset button that he is talking about is probally the high pressure manual reset. There are reasons that this can trip.
1. Dirty condensor. 2. Condensor fan motor not up to par. 3. A liquid line dryer that is partially blocked. 4. A metering device that is not feeding right. If he verified all these and it still tripped maybe a bad switch. Anyways, with it bypassed what ever problem that is causing it to trip is still there and will get worse and the compressor will burn up and he will come and put in a brand that he likes. Hope this helps.
If he reset it on the outdoor unit, this could be a high
pressure switch located where the compressor is, which is attached to the refrigerant line.
Make sure your indoor unit operates by putting the fan to manual, if it operates your problem is not there.
Make sure your breakers have not tripped which should be located in an electrical panel in the house
Is this a 3 phase compressor? If it is it will have markings L1 - L2 - L3 and it will not have a run capacitor, then just reverse any two compressor wires. If it's single phase then you can't without Burning up the start windings, it will be marked C - S - R and have a run capacitor, these markings are on the Compressor.
is it a heat pump? I would be suspect of the line voltage transformer have 24v. if transformer is not matched to line voltage you can have erratic problems their is an under lying problem. that is being missed find a good contractor . Tom
Call Gemaire Distributers (817) 652-3272. Ask for Chris, tell him that Donni McMasters from New Air Mechanical said that they might be able to fax you the schematic. Hope they can get it for you or at least tell you how to get it.
