Bobbin Jams Hi, Just unloaded my brand new Singer Quantum XL6000 machine out of the box. Set it up for embroidery, and on my first project, ran into problems. The needle keeps coming unthreaded and/or the thread breaks, the bobbin keeps getting jammed, the motor overheats... I'm pretty sure I've hooped correctly (WSS beneath my material which is a cloth diaper); using good thread (Sulky Rayon Embroidery for top; Guterman polyester bobbin thread for below); using the factory-installed Singer 90/14 needle; using stock lettering from the machine itself - shouldn't be too hard! Do I need to manually override the automatic tension adjuster? Another layer of stabilizer? Different needle? Is a cloth diaper too hard to embroider on this machine? Did I just get a lemon? No local stores seem to carry or support this product.

check to be sure machine is being threaded correctly first, then when pressure foot is lowered pull thread and see if you are getting tension, if not assembly is bad

SOURCE: Hi, I'm trying to embroider

The plastic drop-in bobbin case, is the worst I have ever seen. The thread will get jammed in it or it hops while the machine is sewing. It is not staying in place. In front of the case, on the right there is a tiny, rectangle spring. It is the only thing I can find that keeps it in place. It is attached with a tiny screw and can be moved forward.

Try removing the bobbin and cleaning the area of any stray threads or lint. When you replace the bobbin pull on the thread. The thread should pull easily and smoothly. If the bobbin is dirty inside the thread will get stuck and bobbin will get **** and thread will break.-------Check out. Thanks.Helpmech.

With the embroidering, some of the bobbin thread is SUPPOSED to show on the top of your embroidery-the machine isn't doing anything incorrectly. You'll need to thread your bobbin with the same thread as you are using with the top. I had the same "problem" when I first got the machine and took it to a wonderful local technician whose helped me with a lot of things who informed me that this is perfectly normal on embroidery machines.

Installing embroidery hoops on Singer Quantum XL-1000

First turn off the XL-1000 and remove the auxilliary bed. Attach the embroidery bed and push the lever on the front of the bed to the right. Switch to the embroidery presser foot. Thread the machine with the appropriate embroidery thread and bobbin thread. Set up the embroidery hoop. Turn on the machine. Lift the presser foot to the highest position. Slide the embroidery hoop under the presser foot such that the key on the hoop goes into the slot on the embroidery bed.

The directions for setting up the hoop are given in the manual for the Quantum XL-1000. Singer has most of their manuals here: https://www.singer.com/support .The current link to the manual is https://www.singer.com/sites/default/files/product_manual/1259_xl-100_0.pdf . The section on embroidery starts on page 54 (page 56 of the PDF). Page 57 has the information on securing the hoop to the embroidery frame.

I hope this helps.

My endless automatic bobbin winding for embroidery doesn't work?

Are you using the bobbin especially designed for that function? Did you use the plastic template? Setting up for endless bobbin winding is quite involved, and it's easy to skip a step and make a mistake. It took me several tries to set mine up.. Frankly, once I finally got it set up, I wasn't thrilled. It doesn't hold a lot of thread, and it was quite frequently interrupting the project to wind more thread on the bobbin.

How do you get the auto threading and wind in place to work on Singer XL6000 sewing machine

There are several FB and Yahoo groups dedicated to the Quantum XL-1000, XL-5000 and XL-6000 who can help you. It may be that your problem with the autothreading is the autothreader is out of adjustment, but I'm at a loss as to the bobbin winder problem.

My embroidery (Singer Quantum XL6000) requires the Windows XP and lower on a computer to acquire additional patterns, will it work with Windows 7?

Mine works with Vista. :)
Just install the XP patch (futura-support.com/downloads/patch.htm) and tell Windows 7 to run the software in XP mode.

Smart media card and embroidery machine

Your machine needs to go into the shop.

Select a Singer dealer and have your purchase information in case this is something that is covered by your warranty.

Bobbin case

If your machine is older than 18 months, it needs a free upgrade from your dealer. The plastic see through needle plate needs to be replaced by a newer version that will keep the bobbin down. Further more a bobbin case position finger needs to be installed.
