I need t know your fault conditon. If you are not getting the picture bu the sound then your screen voltage is very high showing this white screen. Check the crt base for failure and replace very carefully with a similiar type.
I don't think anyone here can give you a sim unlock code. Unless you want to pay for it you can buy from ebay.
Here's the free solution. http://pof.eslack.org/hermes-unlocker/
Run this unlocker on your phone. Follow the instructions exactly. Don't unlock the CID unless you planning on installing another custom rom other than ATT on it.
I have a small solution to what all of you are having with the black screen. I had the same problem so, what you want to do is keep pressing the power button. You do not turn the phone off, you will just put it in standby mode and then back on. If you keep doing that the screen will turn back on but you can not let the back light go out.
Have you attempted to remove the battery and then put it back into the device after a full minute? Some times that can help reset the phone and then it will work properly.
If not--has your phone come near to water? Check your battery spot to see if it has or not. That might also do the same thing to your phone.
Let us know how that works out for you. We wish you good luck!
I believe I've figured out what caused my white screen problem. I finally broke down and purchased a nice holster for my 8525. It had a magnetic catch to keep it closed. Within a couple of days I experienced my first white screen. I thought that was pretty wierd, but thought it must just need to be re-booted. Later that night the same thing happened. Throughout the weekend it happened many more times. I got on the internet to see if anyone else was having the same problem...OMG. In site after site the same thing; my 8525 has developed a white screen. I came across one where the writer mentioned that he had just purchased a case with a magnetic closure. I took mine out of the case I'd just purchased, changed the battery, and turned it back on. I have not had a white screen since. I'm back to a velcro closure forever! Good luck.
