Modems do this once they get older. Either get a new one or wait for it to reconnect.

Will my modem help me connect to internet on my dsi because i have one and i would like to know if i can connect to the internet on my dsi with it

That depends mainly on your modem. If you plug a DSL from the you DSL on the wall to your modem (which, hopefully, is able to use DSL, not Cable), then you can connect it to your computer (which should usually be using Ethernet).

To configure the modem You will need to use the cd provided.

Or to configure without the cd follow the steps below:

  7. Password: admin
  8. Use the quick setup wizard.
  9. It will be more easy for you to configure it.
  10. Be sure to have the username and password from the ISP for the internet access, you may need to reconfigure it from start. or if you may need to reset the modem
  11. At times to access your modem you will need to set the ip of your network card to the same range.
  12. To set the ip go in control panel then open network connection
  13. Doulbe click the local area connection.
  14. open Internet Protocol Open Tcp/ip
  15. then set your ip Like: 10.1.1.5

I have a DSL502T ADSL Router, and have bought a new emachines computer. I can not connect to the internet. The computer has a wireless connection loaded but I want to connect by dailup Please could you help...

You are a bit confused with the various components required for Internet connections.
If you have a dial-up connection with an Internet Service Provider, all you do is connect your computer's modem port to the phone line and dial the phone number of your Internet Service provider.
If you are connected to the Internet Servise Provider by ADSL and have a combined ADSL router and modem then you connect the phone line to this router/modem. If the ADSL modem is separate component then the phone line is connected to the ADSL modem and this modem is connected to the router with a LAN cable and the computer is connected to the router with another LAN cable. If the route is wireless and the computer has a wireless card then you don't need a LAN cable between the router and the computer.
If you are connected to the Internet by ADSL, to secure your Internet connection and configure your computer so it can connect to the Internet, please follow my instruction - click on this link :-

Not sure if i got dsl-924 set up right it keeps loosing internet connection

If ur internet connection is unconnected in between intervals of some 5 to 10 minutes, then it may be problem of ur MODEM or LAN card. The cable may be loose or the device may be faulty. The DSL link setup is perfectly OK. try changing ur MODEM/LAN card with other one.

Lost internet connection. I use BT Voyager 190 ADSL modem on AOL with WIndows Vista. Power and Thernet indicator lights are on solid, but DSL and Internet indicators are off.

Sounds like there is a issue with your phone line. The DSL indicator is the phone line. Check to see if you have a dial tone or if a message is on the phone you haven't listen too, if you have message service. Try unplugging all phone connections as and replug them in again. You also might need a filter for your DSL to phone line. Also if you have an alarm that is monitoring your system, you need to by pass alarm and use a filter.

I have a problem installin my modem the adsl does not work

DSL setup basics:
1: Check to make sure the line you connect your modem to is the same line that is registered to the DSL account.
2: Plug phone cable into modem.
3: Plug the RJ45 cable into the modem and into your computer.
4: Power up the modem and your PC.

Next Steps Varies Depending on ISP
5: Log into your DSL modem from your computer by using 192.168.1.1 (typically, may be different)
6: Set your PPPoE settings.

Also you can skip step 5 and 6 if you install the software they sent you to connect your system. Most people find this software completely useless and typically do not install it though.

Also you can call your ISP and they will walk you through every step to get you connected to them, that is their job.

It sounds like U are trying to use a dialup modem with a DSL driver. Uninstall the modem via the control panel - system and reinstall with orginal driver.
