Question about Brother MFC 210C All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Very faint printing

The MFC acts like it is out of ink but the cartridges are new. Print quality is very poor tot he point of unreadable. Have changed cartridges again but no use. Appears to be only black but the other cartridges appear to not work correctly either if the black is not working.

Why is print quality poor after inserting new ink. Copies are faint and have lines

the cartridge is clogged with ink that has dried and reduced the slit. you need to replace the cartridge with a new one. it happens usually if you recharge the cartridge 3 or 4 times with compatible ink.

Right hand side page print quality very poor, almost unreadable

this is cause of the lens is dirty with toner droping..
open the front cover and on the right side, there is a level for you to pull out.. at the right side of the printer, open the small cover and you will be able to find a cleaner. To clean..pull out the holder few times.. by applying slight pressure..that will clean the bottom lens..and u should be able to print out fine now..

Try cleaning the black printer heads several times in a row, at least 5 times then print a black document with best quality setting.
Press the ink button, then down to select select cleaning and then press menu/set and menu/set again to select black.

FULL NEW CARTRIDGE BUT PRINT QUALITY IS POOR

Are you using a factory new ink cartridge?
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using factory new cartridges, then please call the manufacturers Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

the messages you get for cartridges other than the original are not trustful. You will get the right reading for original(from Brother) cartridges. Some ink is poor for printing photo quality.

not any refillable ink is right for printing photos, sometimes too dark, sometimes you don't get the right mix of colors.

Ink well cleaners

There is a design reason why the print heads are changed when you change an ink cartridge is changed. The print head isn't made to be reused and the quality of your print will suffer at some point if you reuse the same print head 6 or 7 times. I would get new cartridges and be happy with the print quality that a new cartridges will bring.

Brother MFC 5840CNZ displays Ink Empty on CYAN when new cartridge is installed

Something that has worked for some Brother owners to get cartridges recognised.

1. With your MFC powered up, open it up and remove the cartridge you are having a problem with, then close the MFC, leaving it powered up. It should report that there is no cartridge in the machine.

Still with the MFC powered up, open it up and reinsert the ink cartridge, then close the MFC. It should either ask if you have replaced a cartridge or go into its cleaning mode.

Answer "yes" to "have you replaced cartridge?" and it should either "print" or "clean" and then "print".
