I lost my manual and I don't know how to adjust the straps that secure the baby. I would like a new manual if possible.
Thank you

Need instuction on how to reassemble safety straps on cosco car seat. I took apart to wash seat cover and don't remember how to reassemble

1. Find the same seat at your local store and take photos with your phone.

The position of the harness (slots in the plastic shell) is dependent on the height of your child.

2. Contact the manufacturer for detailed instructions

3. Find a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician or Instructor at safercar.gov.

Can you use a lap belt only with this booster seat?

  • Yes you can. The belt goes between the front and rear sets of arms on the booster seat. It is always advised to use a shoulder strap with it but you need a clip to bring the direction of the top of the shoulder strap [seat belt] to avoid neck (throat) impact. If this is not possible at the moment then run the shoulder strap behind the child and the lap belt portion over their lap, between the two sets of arms, as they sit in the seat. Then get a seat belt locking clip soon. You can get them anywhere on the net and at your local department stores as well for $7 or so. I took the straps off and can not put them back, can you help?

The Long strap goes under the seat and comes up thru 2 holes (each end goes up thru each side). The holes are on each side of where the child sits. They come up and weave into the latches that snap into the **** clasp. Upward toward where the child's head would be they go thru the chest clasp. Look at the writing on the clasp to make sure it is on right (letters read the name Cosco and arent upside down) and the belts should be behing the clasp (in at the bottom of the clasp and out at the top). Up thru the holes on the back of the chair at the height appropriate for the childs body. Out the back and down to the claw that is on a strap under the front that you can pull to tighten or press to release slack as the child gets bigger. There should be 1 or 2 (usually 2) slots for the ends of the straps to be slid on to. Sit the child in the car seat and adjust the belt system so that a finger can be slid between the belts and the child's shoulders. This should do the trick. Good luck and be safe.

I purchased cosco car seat model #22491-AOL and there are no straps/ harness. Am I just suppose to use my car seat belts to restrain the car seat. It does have plastic under head piece to put I guess car...

Yes, this car seat is a booster seat rather then a harnessed car seat.

The requirements are 30-100lbs and 34" to 57".

It's generally recommended that boosters are not used until 5-6 years old when the child is able to sit in proper position in the car on both long and short trips after they have outgrown their harnessed seat.

Hi,
please feel free to call at 1-800-544-1108 and they can send you a manual in case you dont have it.

*To convert the car seat into a booster seat, turn the car seat over and remove the pin that holds the base in place. tHEN REMOVE THE BELTS AND THE BUCKLE.
*To remove you need to bend/twist the keeper until you can push it UP through the seat and remove the belt/strap. It is now a booster seat for use with a lap/shoulder belt in the car. Store all the parts you removed in a ziploc bag for when your child outgrows it so it can be reused

PLEASE RATE MY HELP :)

Cosco booster seat (Summit)

turn the seat so you are looking at the bottom, insert the strap- one end on each side- turn the seat in an upright possition facing you, put the buckle pieces on appropriate side, attatch the center piece- at the chest- insert the strap into the appropriate slot- the adjustments- now turn the seat so you are looking at the rear of it, attatch the metal retainer.

If you washed the straps, they will need to be replaced. Lock the harness together, to prevent the straps from being twisted. Feed the top part of the harness through the slots that are AT or ABOVE your hangchilds shoulder if the seat is forward facing. IF the seat is for rearfacing, feed the top part of the harness straps through the shoulder slots at or BELOW the child's shoulder. Once each is through, reach down and attach them to the silver plate that hangs from the **** strap adjuster. Once you silde each of the harness straps, then slide the bottom of the through the hole in the cover, then into the base of the seat, folding the top like a triangle makes it easier to get through the tight holes. Repeat on the other side and you are ready to travel! Thanks!

Switch to booster seat

We have two of these for our vehicles, Its pretty simple once you do it. THere is one metal bar (rod) underneath the base. You need to bend the plastic tab to the side in order to slide the rod out of the base. Once the rod is removed the base comes free. After removing the 5 point harness straps (and cleaning all the crumbs accumulated from underneath), you're ready to go.

When set in pace in the car, just the seatbelt hold the child in place.

Hope that helps
