What kind of stereo do you have? I could try guessing, but there are so many different makes and models, I may get it wrong.

When i bought my blazer the radio was locked and the code in the manual dose not work

If it is not new i would say the previous owner changed the code. The dealer may be able to help with that but i doubt it and if they could it will prolly be expensive. Would just be cheaper to get a faceplate adapter and a new stereo.

Hi, i have a 1998 chevy malibu and was wondering how to remove the cd player? i wanted to install a new faceplate so i can get sub woofers in there

Hello,

Follow the below steps:
  1. Review your car's owner's manual to see if it has any tips on removing the current stereo. It may have a diagram of the wiring and the area where the stereo is installed.
  2. Disconnect the battery to avoid an electrical short while working with the wiring.
  3. Use a screwdriver to remove the retaining screws holding in your car stereo. Grab hold of the stereo and pull it toward you to remove it from the dashboard.
  4. Get a pair of DIN tools to slip on either side of the stereo, if the stereo connects to the dash using spring clips and bolts. These thin tools slide in easily, release the clips, and allow the stereo to come out easily. You may need to remove dash panels when bolts hold in the stereo. Take out the bolts and screws that hold the stereo in, and then simply pull it out.
  5. Look at the wires on the back of your car stereo. You should see 2 wires attached to the stereo. A wiring clip protects the stereo from vibrations and holds the wiring harness steady.
  6. Pry the wires up from the stereo and loosen them using a pulling/pushing motion. After working the wires back and forth, you should be able to pull the wires straight out.
I hope the above helps.

Good luck.

Don't know what faceplate to buy for Kenwood Stereo SER# r8188309

So if i understand your question correctly, you still have the stereo in your dash, but the face has been stolen, is this correct, Because if this is the case you can remove the rest of the stereo from the dash and somewhere on this unit it will tell you what model it is.

I have a removeable faceplate kenwood car stereo. it has an auxillary stereo jack in the front. it also has advertizement of this port on the demo screen. my problem is that it won't play through it or i...

it won't read it. It should be as simple as plugging the male end of the wire, 1 end into the psp, and the other male end into the aux input. select a song on the psp and press play. turn up volume to full volume on the psp (not on stereo) and the slowly turn up volume on stereo until its at your liking. if this works, let me know, if it doesnt, let me know.
