Question about Audio Players & Recorders

3 Answers

Just purchased a pioneer DEH-P300IB w/ iPod hookup. iPod will NOT work with it. Tried 3 diff't head units at Circuit city, none of them worked. Another iPod worked fine. My iPod is fully functional, plays music through 'phones or a regular stereo dock, has software version 1.3 (most recent) and is an old school 30G video. again; -- other ipods (modern nano with 1.0.3 software) work --my iPod is fully functional --same results on multiple car stereos (tried both SONY and PIONEER head units)

Sounds like something is wrong with the music player out on your iPod. Does your iPod work with anything that it is supposed to dock to, for example iHome?

If it is like a 3rd generation iPod from a long time ago, it may not support that type of audio output at all.

I have that exact Pioneer head unit and it works with my iPod touch 2g and 2 different iPod nanos I have tried. All new enough to have color screens.

Also, some iPods are just incompatible with some players, from what I understand.

You may try using different cable. I have the same deck, hook up my iPhone to it with a Monster cable. You can get them from the Apple website, like 20 bucks

Connected my pioneer deh 1500 up but no sound at all, speakers work just fine. What is the issue here?

If you know for a fact that the speakers work and have tried all speaker hookups then the pre amp in the head unit is fried. Only other thing to do, if you have aftermarket door speakers is to run an amp for them through front rca outs. If you have any other questions let me know.

Cant find aux conection for ipod function pioneer car stereo deh-p6800mp just need help trying to get ipod playing

there is no direct input on this until. although you can purchase the aux input cable from the link i have posted which will allow you to plug in rca's into the rear. after purchasing2.gif this cable, you will have to turn on the aux option in the menu. which you may want to make sure that you can do beffore you order it.

1.with the power on, hold the source button until the until turns off
2. hold the audio button until a menu is opened. (hold function if audio doesn't work)
3. scroll through until you find the aux option and turn it on.
4. turn on the radio2.gif and scroll through the sources and make sure it is there.
5. buy cable and headphone to rca cable2.gif

or you can order the direct ipod adapter made by pioneer, which will let you control the ipod directly from the head unit itself. whichever you prefer http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&source=hp&q=pioneer+ipod&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=9877805020289826524&ei=_vPKSpzyKYe4NrzrpPMH&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=1#ps-sellers

Pioneer DEH-P9300 and Ipod Adapter Problem

The correct iPod adapter for this is the CD-IB100ii, not the PAC piece you bought. With the correct adapter you will be able to charge your iPod, get text and control from the head unit, and of course audio playback through your system.

IPod Adapter kit for DEH-P4800MP

Yes it does, I have proof.

Open a new window/tab browser. Click this link to the PIONEER WEBSITE PDF File for this cable. Please refer to page 7of 84, and look in the category "head unit group 1"... From the BOTTOM LEFT of this paragraph count up FIVE LINES, your Head Unit Model number is right there.

I hope this helps,
Scott

How do I turn on the "external aux" for my pioneer DEH-p7000r

You'll need an adapter cable such as this one:
http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?search=ip+bus&i=469PIOPRCA

The adapter cable will convert the changer port on your head unit into an AUX input with dual RCA jacks. Once connected, the head unit will detect the cable and allow it to be another source (i.e. radio, cd, aux).

To connect your iPod to the adapter cable, use any iPod cable or dock that outputs to male RCA plugs.
