Question about Arris Wireless G Broadband Router (wr850g)
I am going to require more specific information. Is he trying to log in to the web based settings of the router or is he attempting to log in to the wireless network that you have set up at your residence. If he is trying to login to the router, type 192.168.1.1in an open internet explorer window address bar, than the password is typically admin for both username and password. For him to login to your network, if you have set up some sort of security features for your network, he will need the passphrase that was set up when you set up the network. If you have a wired PC you can type 192.168.1.1 and find the passphrase under the heading of "Security" or possibly "Wireless Security" write down the passphrase so that he can enter the passphrase into his laptop when prompted by his connection tool.
