It will not add preformance, but you will be able to have more stuff on your computer. If you want temporary memory (which lets you run more things at the same time) then you want to get RAM. There are 3 slots on the inside of your computer. Only 1 or 2 are being used when you buy it. These are RAM slots. Shove the RAM into there and click it in and youre done! if you want more actualy memory then you will have to buy a new hard drive. These are fairly easy to install, they look like rectangular metal things. Un plug the one in your computer and plug this one in. Note that this is where all of your data is stored, and you will have to re-install absolutely EVERYTHING. You wont have to install any programs to use RAM or new Hard Drives.

In that case you should upgrade your Ram,memory and graphics card.If you are using 1gb Ram then upgrade it to 3gb by adding 2gb Ram.Then you can see the difference. You can also upgrade your memory like that.If you are using 500gb Memory then upgrade it to 1tb Memory. Then you can see and feel much difference.Upgrading graphics card is an optional thing. If you upgrade it you can see difference in gaming and in your system graphics.

If you do all this things surely your system will improve it's performance.

My HP Pavilion a1120n is running very slow I re formated it a few time over the years. Recently I added more ram and ran great till i clean it with air may , then ran very slow, so I remove some ram then...

Did you replace the hard drive? It is quite possible there is an issue with the drive at that age. YOu could try an application called "SpeedFan" or "HD Tune" and run a S.M.A.R.T test on it. This will help you determine the drive status. You can run a benchmark with "Hd Tune" and determine the speed of the drive. If you want to post your results, I will certainly help out further.

Too slow

This machine by its design very slow. If you look at the specs, it has a Via 8505 processor clocked in at 300 Mhz. That is 3 1/2 times slower than the other netbooks. Italso has only 128 Mb of main memory, so the processor can only store so much data as it works.

Kodac easy share c330 says memory card full, but it is a new card

Which size has the memory card? More than 1GB?
The spec for the SD card format is going to 2GB but the Kodak C330 not compatible with 2 GB SD memory cards.

But try an firmware upgrade. Maybe the supporting now the 2 GB memory cards.
Why download firmware version 1.07?
This firmware version improves memory card compatibility and provides general performance updates.

Unfortunately "real slow" is a subjective analysis and I would need to know what you are comparing it to before going much further. Lots of things could be impacting the performance of your PC or you could just own a slow system (compared to your friend's) and you may need to adjust your expectations (or buy a new PC). However, adding memory can speed up a machine. Clearing out unused files and defragmenting the hard disk will also help. There are lots of tweaks you can do to XP and Vista but they usually only result in marginal performance improvements. You may have a bunch of malware (virus or spyware) running, you may have multiple anti-virus programs, multiple firewall programs, etc. Some people go overboard, not realizing they don't have the extra CPU power needed to run all those programs. Performing a recovery will completely clean out your system and restore it to the factory settings. If the system's original performance from the factory was good this will get you back to that point. (Be sure to back up your data files and system settings before starting the backup though!!)

Perfomance of pc

There are loads of software packages promising to improve computer performance.
All rubbish!!!
Software always weights on system, and cannot actively boost computer performance.

All a software can do is cleaning hard disk and cleaning system registries files.

If you want really improve computer performance you need to upgrade RAM by adding more memory.

That will make a difference.

Slow computer

YOu computer meet the average power requirement nowadays. HOwever if you want to make more faster performance. U only need to add more memory. 1Gb is faster than my computer which is 512Mb.

Ok adding more memory make the computer faster from 1 Gb to 2GB this is much faster.

hard drive is nothing to do with the performance of the system. its only a storage of all files.

but besure to know the model of the memory before you buy. it should be identical to your current memory.
