Hello, The following is a google search of repair shops in Vancouver. You may have to do some searching around before you find someone that will take the item, but any electronics shop that repairs consumer electronics or digital cameras and possible some computer repair shops should be able to fix it. If you look on the item you should see the manufacturer's name along with a address or phone number and visit their website to find a customer contact phone number. I would check into the local shops first as they may be cheaper than shipping it off to the manufacturer, because you will not have to pay for shipping and handling. Try and find a shop that will give you a free estimate or at least only charge you 25-30 dollars to find out exactly what is wrong with it. To find more results for google type in "electronics repair shops in or near vancouver". I tried to find the manufacturer by the name of TAO but was unable to find it, it may be under something else on the picture frame. Hope this helps and let me know if I can be of further assistance. I will continue to look to see if I can find the manufacturer or a place that does repair on them and if I find anything I will post it for you. If it states something else on the picture frame please provide that information. Thanks
If you do not mind, please rate my help. I really do appreciate it and thanks.

There should be a small hole on the back of the unit, use a pin or a needle to reset the software but be sure to remove your sd card first otherwise it could wipe all of your pictures, once this is done be sure to give it a full charge while switched off, when it has fully charged (16+Hrs) switch it on and insert your sd card, If this does not fix it then I am sorry but I know of no other fixes
Mine did this before it died. It would blink, show the eye and then a white screen that says it's loading something, when I kept the power button pressed down. It was the only way it showed it was still alive. I then bought a new adaptor from RadioShack with the same voltage and amp... and it just died. The adaptor got very hot and I now think it's the frame itself. Unless someone knows what to do inside this frame with pictures, I'd suggest taking it to your local, non-store chain, mom-and pop, electronic repair store...
The A701 is a bit cranky. I've found that it prefers USB flash sticks of upto 2GB. It likes the flash stick formatting before use. And it prefers jpg files added to the root directory of the flash stick - so no images in folders. Finally but probably least important, it's not much point uploading 2MB jpgs as the screen is pretty much 72DPI smaller size JPGS lead to a faster loading. ( try around 900x 600 dpi )
If you recently bought this item you should return it to the store for an exchange or refund. It is not uncommon to get electronics that are broken from stores. If it is not a new item, the problem will be internal with the electrical components inside, you will have to take it to a repair shop because it will take a qualified repair person to fix it and it may cost a bit of money. If you can open it, the only simple solution that you would be able to do yourself would be to check the fuse which should be near where the power cord enters the unit. You should be able to change that with ease, unless it is soldered to the board. Sorry that I could not help you further, but I would have to have the unit in front of me to check all the electrical components inside with a multi meter.
I've now returned the original keychain, bought another.... same thing. Returned, bought a third.... same thing. Never works unless plugged into a USB port. I sat on hold two times to customer support for over a half hour. They were useless, one blamed it on the store that they must have damaged it. The other blamed it on the USB cable - which didn't make sense. If it can download pictures, the cable should be fine. I played the game anyway and swapped cables - same result. These things are just pieces of crap!
