I have a 2 year old RCA L42FHD37 LCD TV. Sound is working but I have no picture, any suggestions?

Line, faults & possible causes to LCD screen are given with illustrations. You can get an idea about the fault to an extent. Line faults to all LCD screen are similar, irrespective of its brand and screen size.

When using VGA, you will need to run another cable from the audio out of the other device to the red and white RCA connectors on the back of the TV labeled Audio Input (left & right).

Reset the receiver by unplugging it for 10 seconds then plug it back in. Unplug the HDMI cable from the TV and the receiver and plug it back in. If you are still not getting any sound connect another component (VCR, DVD Player, etc.) to the same TV, using same cable, same input, and same channel to see if it works. If it still doesn't work with the other component, replace the cable. If it works then give us a call at 1-800-333-DISH (3474) for some additional troubleshooting. We hope this helps. The cost of a new screen is proportional too the retail value of the tv. When the screen is cracked its overwhelmingly expensive to purchase, then an additional cost to install it. You may want to look into selling that tv for parts. Other than that, you may as well buy a new tv compared to the cost of a new LCD screen.......

Unplug the TV wait 10 Seconds and Plug it back in. Should work fine

Ok. PCB means Printed Circuit Board.
It looks similar to the picture down below. A part must have gone bad on your PC board. So, the RCA shop ordered a replacement PC board to fix the problem. It's an interchangeable part. All newer TV now have PC boards, which each one hold a different function.

You can easily fix this audio problem by downloading a software upgrade for your HDTV. And you don't have to be a rocket scientist or a brain surgeon either ;)

If you need to find the software upgrade:

Go to RCA.com and click on Support, from there you will click technical support. In technical support, click on the link called Software Download. Scroll to the bottom of the page where you will find 2 links. The first link will tell you how to download the software to a Mini Cruzer USB drive (you need at least 15MB of space) and the second link is the software download itself.
