F2A55M-DS2 vista display drivers

Try downloading the latest drivers from AMD's website, found here:

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

You can use AMD's auto detect program to find the best match.

If you're using a video card plugged into the PCI-E slot to display your graphics, I'd recommend disabling the onboard video by accessing your computers BIOS/EFI by pressing the right Function key on startup. If the graphics card you're using is AMD, the above link will also find the correct driver to use with it.

If it's a Nvidia based card, try their site for drivers, located here:

http://www.nvidia.ca/Download/index.aspx

Hope this helps!

have you tried to update drivers at ports(com&lpt)

click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you could see a yellow question mark?

right click to reinstall drivers

if you can see your usb drive but its not working

ports(com&lpt)right click update driver if this fails to fix the problem

check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red white green black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems for a computer and its parts

hope this helps

K7SV266AD Can I use 266Mhz athalon processor with this board, book says 100/133 FSB. If so what processors? Thanks

The Syntax K7SV266AD motherboard uses a VIA motherboard chipset.

It uses a VIA KT266A for the Northbridge, and a VIA VT8235 for the Southbridge.

About the motherboard chipset;

Chip and Chipset are slang terms for I.C.
Integrated Circuit,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Integrated_circuit

The Northbridge chip handles the faster capabilities of the computer.
It handles the Processor, Ram Memory, and High-speed graphics.

High-speed graphics is AGP or PCI-Express

A graphics card inserted into a PCI slot is Not high-speed graphics.
Neither is Integrated Graphics.

(Integrated Graphics is also referred to as OnBoard graphics.
ON the motherBOARD. The graphics chipset is soldered directly to the motherboard, and not to a graphics adapter card. {Graphics card}

The graphics chipset is a GPU.
Graphics Processing Unit,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPU

The Southbridge chip handles the slower capabilities of the computer.
It handles the IDE, and SATA capabilities of the computer.
It also handles the USB ports, Ethernet, and Audio, plus anything connected to a PCI slot, and Integrated Graphics, to list a few examples.

Motherboard Diagram,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Motherboard_diagram.svg

[For further information you may wish to search on Wikipedia,
A) Northbridge (computing)
B) Southbridge (computing)
C) Bus
D) PCI Local Bus
E) AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port)
F) PCI Express
G) Front Side Bus ]

Looking at the motherboard with the Processor to the top, and Ram Memory to the right, the VIA KT266A northbridge chip is below the Processor.
The aluminum finned Heatsink covers it.

The VIA VT8235 southbridge chip is down towards the lower right corner.

Looking at the specs for the VIA KT266A chip we can see,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_VIA_chipsets#Slot_A_and_Socket_A

1) It supports either DDR Sdram ram memory at 200MegaHertz, or 266MHz.
PC-1600 or PC-2100, respectively.
(DDR Sdram is clocked twice. Therefore the 133MHz Front Side Bus {FSB} support will handle 266MHz ram memory)

2) The Maximum ram memory it will support is 4GB. If you have the motherboard manual, you will know what the maximum amount of Ram Memory is, that the motherboard will support.

3) Will support Processors with either a 100MHz, or 133MHz FSB. (Front Side Bus)
AMD processors are 'Double-pumped'.
The VIA VT266A chip will handle AMD processors with up to a 266MHz FSB.

It will handle AMD Athlon, or AthlonXP, or Duron processors, with a maximum FSB of 266MHz.

http://www.via.com.tw/en/products/chipsets/legacy/kt266a/

The best processor will be an AMD AthlonXP with a 266MHz FSB, that fits in a Socket A (Socket 462) processor socket.

Watch the Voltage used. Look up the AMD processor you have installed now, and see what voltage range it uses. The new processor must use voltage in this range also.

Personally I don't like sites that try to install drivers for you. sometimes they do all right but , sometimes they may install generic updates that don't work or make matters worse. A prime example, is if you try to update a driver for a graphics card. Your best bet for driver updates is to get them from the manufacturer of the software.
http://www.gigabyte.us/support-downloads/download-center.aspx
This is Gigabytes link for downloads. There are a couple of different options depending on your revision.
You also have AMD chipsets and, I'm guessing, an ATI/AMD graphics card. I'm not familiar with "darksider so if you can give me the model number of your card I can help you further or, if you know how to enter info definately get your card updtaes through here:

What is max new cpu speed to change for old cpu ? k7sv266ad

The KT266A is a VIA motherboard chipset,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_VIA_chipsets#Slot_A_and_Socket_A

The motherboard chipset for your motherboard, consists of a Northbridge, and Southbridge chip.

The Northbridge is a VIA 8366A
The Southbridge is a VIA VT8235

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Motherboard_diagram.svg

[Note*
CPU = Central Processing Unit. Another term used is Microprocessor, or Processor for short ]

The Northbridge chip handles the faster capabilities of a computer.
Handles the Processor, Ram Memory, and HIGH-speed graphics.

[A graphics card installed into a PCI expansion slot is Not high-speed graphics.
Integrated Graphics is Not high-speed graphics.

AGP and PCI Express are high-speed graphics.
If you have an AGP graphics expansion slot, it is handled by the Northbridge chip.
If you have a PCI Express expansion slot, it is handled by the Northbridge chip ]

The Southbridge chip handles the slower capabilities of a computer. This is shown in the diagram.

The VIA KT266A's Northbridge chip, (VT 8366A) supports AMD processors with UP TO a 266MHz Front Side Bus.
(266MHz FSB)

In the chart you see under the FSB heading -> 100 - 133MHz
100MHz to 133Mhz.

AMD processors are 'Double-Pumped'.
Therefore 133MHz becomes 266MHz.

233Mhz with the jumpers at their present positions?

Weird!

Looking at the motherboard, as it is mounted in the computer case; Processor to the Top, Ram Memory slots to the Right,
5 White PCI slots to the Bottom;

The J4 jumper is above the CMOS battery.
The CPU Frequency Select jumper.

(The J1 jumper is right next to the CMOS battery. To the left. That is the Clear CMOS jumper)

The jumper has 3 pins. Number 1 pin is on the LEFT.
From Left to Right; Pins 1, 2, and 3.

With a jumper block,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Jumperblock-shunts.jpg

,on Pins 1 and 2, you have a 100MHz FSB.

With a jumper block on Pins 2 and 3, you have a 133MHz Front Side Bus.

Processor you pick have a broken pin?

You can use AMD Athlon processors with up to a 133Mhz FSB, or AMD Duron processors with up to a 133MHz FSB.

[Actually 200MHz FSB, and 266MHz FSB. Remember what I stated about Double-Pumped ]

Example,

This happens because the boot process fails: either because in the boot order the floppy isn't mentioned (put it first) or the bootdisk isn't good.

Computer Does not work correctly with Radeon 9250 Graphics Card

Hmm? Everything except replacing the motherboard, sometimes it does not get any better, but...go into your BIOS and turn off the Gateway splash screen. It will be an option in maybe the first or second menu choice. Make sure your on board video device is disabled and save your options when exiting. Good luck and let me know how it turns out.

Graphics cards and sound cards

Hi

You don't need any special sound and graphics card to support AMD Athlon 1700+ Processor.

Just ensure you have a systemboard that support Socket 462 (also called Socket A). Sound and graphics support are generally a feature of the systemboard in use.

Check Socket A AMD Processor Installation Guide for more info - http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/white_papers_and_tech_docs/23986.pdf
