Most of the new TV's display a blue screen when there's no signal for it to lock on so try doing this:

Try unplugging it for about 5-10 minutes and see if that clears up the problem. Why? Because they have microprocessors in them and just as like with any other operating system, they can hang up or crash. This isn't an uncommon problem with today's TV sets. Unplugging it for awhile resets the microprocessor (in other words, it causes it to re-boot when you plugit in again).

If still not working call the manufacturer for help or for replacement..

Hope that helps.......

Hi Dave
Blue screen comes due to loss of video input signal. Please check it with terrestrial (Antenna should be connected) and A/V mode. Please also provide the model number of the LCD TV so I can locate some specific solution.
Good Luck

This set is over the age where expensive repairs are recommended. See late issues of Consumer Reports that deal with these matters; the October issue in particular.

Therefore, I suggest you try a couple of freebies and if they do not help, then think of a replacment tv instead.

ONE: Do a hard reset. Merely unplug the power cord for 4 hours, then retry.

TWO: Do the vibration/whacking test for loose connections and cold solder joints. Smack it with your hand or fist a few time all around the cabinet to see if the vibrations will reawaken the bad/loose connections internally.

THREE: Go into the service mode and see if there are any error reports that will give a clue to its strange behavior. You can enter the service mode by referring to this site: http://www.fixyourowntv.com/servicemenu.php

Sony KDL46S4100 when turned on there is no picture just a blue screen

Hi,
Is this blue screen on all inputs (HDMI, etc.), or just on the one?
Does the remote control work, can you get the menu to display, is there any sound?
If no sound and picture, no menu etc., might be a software problem, the main PCB, or a missing voltage on this board.

What does it mean when the picture goes blue? the picture turns blue while we watching it

Typically it is an indication that the blue CRT is failing. If screen turned red, then the red CRT would be failing, etc..

Sometimes you might see the screen flash blue and then go solid blue, then shutdown.

You need an experienced repair person to fix it. It can be expensive.

Picture comes on then fades to blue

Check the info from this website to see if you are able to fix your TV. You should turn the blue screen control down slightly counterclockwise. If that did not work, then more likely you have a video amplifier IC defective or a blue CRT.
