Question about Harman Kardon FL8385 5-Disc CD Changer
The 5 cd door does not close all the way. The door sticks out approximately 1/4 inch. I had a CD dislodged and removed the top and then removed the CD. The 5 disc holder is aligned with the detent in the machine so it closes in the proper orientation but it does not close all the way. Obviously something is preventing it from closing but I can't find it.
Robotek is 100% correct. I've just fixed the very same problem and posted the process here on Fixya and KeepAndShare.

The machine tray carousel may have stepped out of alignment after jamming on the dislodged CD and is catching on the CD transport assembly on the way in. on the way in. This problem can generally be solved by retiming the tray mechanism. This is one of those jobs that takes some perseverance and an understanding of the transport. If you don't have a head for mechanical things, this may not be something you can fix yourself. A HiFi repair guy would. Should be minor charge.
