Question about Audio Players & Recorders
Here's what is going on - the mm50 speakers were made in 2005, before iPod decided to release third generation, fourth generation, and fifth generation players. The product specs for the mm50 might have said it was compatible with an "iPod classic" or an iPod "Nano" - but they were referring to an earlier generation of player. These Logitech speakers/dock just isn't compatible with 2006-2008 iPods.
Reset the ipod and run the Recovery Tool like the user manual suggests - the full manual is available at Apple's website.
If it is still possible, return the Logitech speakers.
