Re: What is the life expectancy of Bosch front loader...
Not long. have a Bosch Axiss WFL 2060. It started making buzzing noises starting about a year ago and I ignored them. It failed and I am replacing either the motor or/and more things. If ur a DIY its definitely less expensive than a new machine. dwkendall sends

I have a similar model (WTW4850XQ1) that was making a very loud grinding/screeching noise during the agitation and sometimes the spin cycle. I unplugged and turned it on its front to get underneath and exposed the motor/transmission unit. Took the cover off the belt drive assembly and my drive gear was loose. Simple tightening down of the nut was an easy fix for me. But some times those plastic gears between the drive pulley assembly and transmission crack or the teeth wear down (think it's called the CAM). That is a fairly cheap and easy fix as well ($35). Repair Clinic website has free videos on how to diagnose and fix issues and parts as well. Worth a look.
Cindy, you might want to check the gears in your machine. I had a similar problem and it turned out that the gears are made of a plastic/nylon material and they deteriorate pretty easy, making the washer make loud noises. Took the guy who fixed mine about 20 minutes and then it was nice and quiet again. Good luck.
The symptoms that you describe sounds like the spider arms that support the drum are broken. It is a very expensive repair. Get a few estimates, before deciding whether it is worth repairing or replacing. Sorry.
Very likely the main bearing and drum shaft-inner tub will need replace. Not worth repairing, easily can cost more than the washer. Buy a new whirlpool front load duet, super capacity or the top load whirlpool with and agitator. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists
If it is a front loader, then remove the rear panel, remove the belt, and soin drum by hand, if it feels rough, or is noisy and rumbling, then the main drum bearings have failed.
This is a major repair.
most front loaders are balanced by a large: ready for this: cement block inside at the top of your machine and because spin is so fast it can sometimes hit inside your machine or it has brokin a peice off ,sorry but yours going to have to get the repair person out.adrian
