Xerox XC830 table top copier. paper jam where the paper feeds into between the hot roller. When I open up the copier the part that heats up does not seem to be engaged where it needs to be and the wheels are connecting on the ends to feed the paper through.

I'm sorry i meant to say that the wheels are "NOT" connecting and it makes a clicking sound.

  • jamietindle Jul 06, 2008

Your #1 solution did not work. Let me try to explain in more detail. the horizontal piece that heats up is freely able to lift up when I have the copier open. When i press down on the closure button and fake that it is closed, all of the wheels on the top are turning appropriately. It seems like the horizontal piece (prioter???) is not locking down into position therefore the wheels that turn on the top are not making a good contact/fit to the loosely turning wheels on the bottom there fore the paper is not being pulled through. It seems that piece should somehow lock into position. I have checked that all of the loose turning wheels turned properly and the ones one the top turn when it thinks the copier is closed. Any other ideas?? should I check with another expert?

    1. Turn the power off.

    2. Unplug the Power Cord.

    3. Press the Release Button on the right-hand side of the copier to open the top half of the copier.

    4. Remove the Toner Cartridge and set it aside.
NOTE: If you are not sure how to remove the Toner Cartridge, refer to Related Items at the bottom of this page.

    5. Look into the copier from the right-hand side at the widest opening.

    6. Place a small amount of alcohol on a cotton swab.

    7. Clean
the four yellow translucent Feed Rollers on the bottom floor of the
copier using your cotton swab. Thoroughly clean each Feed Roller all
      the way around.

    8. Clean the four charcoal grey Feed Rollers,
located a few inches behind the yellow Feed Rollers. Thoroughly clean
each Feed Roller all the way around.

    9. Remove the Paper Tray(s) completely.

    10. Stand the copier upright on the back side.

    11. Looking
at the bottom of the copier, you will see two grey Half Moon Rollers.
Turn the Half Moon Rollers away from you in a counter clockwise
direction to expose the round side. Thoroughly clean both Half Moon
      Rollers all the way around.

    12. If you have two Paper Trays, clean the second set of Half Moon Rollers that are used by the second Paper Tray.

    13. Carefully set the copier back down in the normal operating position.

    14. Reinstall the Paper Tray(s).

    15. Reinsert the Toner Cartridge.

    16. Close the top half of the copier.

    17. Plug in the Power Cord.

    18. Turn the power on.

    19. Make a test copy.

If this did mot work then there is hardware failure in the printer you need to get it serviced from a local service center or if within warranty get it done by the company.....

You need new fuser assembly kit. The black gear that is supposed to be moving might have been totally broken.

You should first have a check over the roller . Mostly the problem will be the roller only .

But let me know how old is your copier ?

Depending on it we can solve your problem .

E2 error code on Xerox work centre xd series 120f copier

e2 is a paper jam problem. check that the paper guides in the cassette are positioned aginst the paper properly. Also remove the toner and drum cartridge. Clean all rubber rollers that you can get to with a damp cloth ( water). You are especially trying to clean the upper and lower registration rollers that "pinch" the paper. I hope that this helps.

Xerox XC830, flashing 'P'

I have used this tip numerous times with great success.
Remove the paper tray and take all the paper out of the tray. Now on the metal plate that springs up where the paper goes there are 2 fiber pads that are about an inch square. Spray these 2 pads with glass cleaner until they are wet. Wipe off the metal around the pads and re-install the paper tray with NO paper in the tray. Now tray and make a copy....you will of course get the "P" light. Just hit C to clear it and hit the print button again. Do this at least 4 or 5 times. What you are doing here is cleaning the feed rollers by having them turn against the pads with the cleaner on them. Next take out the tray, blot the pads somewhat dry and add paper to the tray, re-install the tray and try copying again.
Should feed paper now unless you have a mechanical issue.
Good Luck.

Xerox XC830 Copier--Paper jams as it is leaving the copier

Inside the copier on the rear side where the gears are you'll find the gear on the fixing roller is broken. You can call Sharp instead of Xerox because there are usually cheaper. The supplies are not interchangeable, but the parts are.
Good luck

Xerox copycentre c20 paper jam in 2 how do i get it out please

Unplug the machine, open the right door. Get a phillips screwdriver.
Look on the upper portion of the paper path, you will see an assembly with yellow waning stickers that say HOT. There are 4 silver screws on that fuser assembly. Remove those screws, and unplug the white connector. Pull back toward yourself to remove the fuser.
Lay it down and remove 2 silver phillips screws , it will open up and you can remove the paper. Make sure the machine has been off for a half an hour or so, It is hot. Take a good look at the black aluminum coated roller on top. See if it looks smooth and clean, If it has a lot of toner built up on it, you will have to repalce the fuser or it will continue to jam and give you ghost ( light reprinted) images up and down your page.
Also the M20 does not handle large black ares on a page such as a picture or magasing cover being copied. Largs solid areas tend to stick to that heat roller. If you do copy a photo, try and allow about 2 inches on the top of white. Just move your original down on the glass about 2 inches from the edge. 2 inches to tie right of the edge of the glass.

If it is making it to that final roller area, the fuser gear is broken.
I would almost bet my house that if you look toward the back of the machine, you will find the gear laying in the bottom of the machine in 3 or 4 pieces.
I am assuming some things here.
1 is that the paper is not damaged, and you are talking that it has just entered the heat roller area.
Easy gear to replace, it is on the back of the fuser assembly, you can locate it, by going all the way to the inside ( back) of that fuser assembly. CAREFUL it will be hot if the machine is on, And on the upper roller, normally gray, it should be on the back side.
Let me know if it's a problem I can give you a place to call and order it. If I rememeber correctly it is in the $15 range.

Printer malfunction

The samsung printer have three paper jam sensors. First (paper jam 0) after the feed rollers. Second (paper jam 1) at the left of the feed rollers and third (paper jam 2) at the fuser unit where it is hot. You can see the actuator between the two white rollers. Paper jam 2 is mainly cause by the scrappers out of position on the side of the upper heat rollers. You will have to clean it and put it back into position.
