If you have a problem getting into safe mode using windows Vista or 7, boot up your computer. As soon as it tries to start windows turn off the power. When you try to start it again it should come up with a menu asking if you want to use safe mode or boot normally. Select safe mode.
Sounds like to power settings were set too low. Restart the PC, before it gets to Windows press F8. This will send the PC into SAFE mode. You'll get a menu of which SAFE mode to select, just select SAFE mode with networking. Once in SAFE mode, go to START, Control Panel, Power Options. From there select new settings. Since this is a desktop, I would make the settings very long. Good luck
when i power start my computer,,the light come on and seems to operate but the monitor doesn't come on,,,when switichin the monitor off and on , the blue light comes on and it reads monitor goin to sleep and the screen gets dark,,but the monitor orange light is on,,,pls help
If the monitor displays POST messages as it boots, then your monitor is still working. It would appear that either your video card or your monitor settings need fixing. Try booting Windows in SAFE MODE and go to Control Panel. Select Display Settings and uninstall the existing driver for your video card.
Reboot your machine. Windows should detect your video card and install its proper drivers. If you've gotten this far, your monitor is working.
Failing the above, reboot in SAFE MODE again and this time uninstall your monitor. Try rebooting again and Windows should again detect, configure and install your monitor appropriately.
go to safe mode.. change the power settings for windows...
to go to safemode.. simply restart your computer.. then press f8 several times til you see the boot menu.,.. select safe mode.. from there.. you should be able to boot windows.. change the power settings in control panel
Video Card has a resolution setting higher than the monitor supports. The below works with XP, may work for Vista as well
Start the PC
Start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see a menu
Choose Safe Mode (make sure not to pick safe mode command prompt)
Once you see the desktop, right click on an empty area on the desktop, then choose properties
Find the resolution property in this program and bring it down. 1024 x 768 should be ok
